My week has been pretty decent, but quite hectic. I’m in a million different places, and so are my thoughts. So, today is the perfect day to link up with Amanda and think out loud for a moment.
1.) I think I’ve said this before, but I’ve gone most of my life either not liking coconut or just convinced I don’t like coconut. And, uh, I’m making up for it now. Coconut yogurt, coconut chips, (chocolate) coconut butter… I love it ALL.
2.) When guys “dress up”, they put on a lot of clothes (pants, jacket, long-sleeved shirt, etc.). When girls “dress up”, we either put on fewer clothes (dresses, skirts, etc.) or thinner clothes (dress pants are not warm in the slightest). On days like today, when it’s crazy cold, I wish this wasn’t the case.
3.) I just finished reading this play:
Honestly, it was beautiful and the translation was fantastic; it maintained the rhyme scheme so well. Admittedly, I find rhyming a little distracting because I feel like I’m reading Dr. Seuss books to my younger cousins all over again, but I still find it stunning and impressive.
4.) I have a long day today, but I get to end it with some time in the kitchen! We have prospective students staying with us tonight, and we’re planning a special, possibly-too-ambitious “study break” (basically college snack time) for them. I’ll be sure to share how that goes!
5.) I need to plan out my schedule for next quarter. But wait, didn’t I just come back from winter break? Where does time go?

It so does.
That’s all for me today – I hope you have a good one!
Do you like Dr. Seuss?
Tell me some random things!

Just read three Dr. Seuss books to Mason on Monday.–Green Eggs and Ham, Left Foot, Right Foot, and I don’t remember. It should still be running through my head, but it’s lost.
Weather remains major topic. Lots of cancellations, even my “Church Ladies’ group for tomorrow. Shucks–that includes lunch at China Town.

When Kayla was little, I would go to sleep with Oh Say Can You Say in my head. It’s gone, now, but I bet it would come back a little better than riding a bike.
LOVE Dr. Seuss! Green Eggs and Ham will forever be one of my favourites. And I know what you mean about coconut. I used to hate it, but now I’m obsessed. Then again, my diet is a complete 180 from what it used to be, soooo there’s that 😆
My grandparents had (have?) a computer game that read Green Eggs and Ham and was interactive! I played/listened to it SO many times. Love it.
I feel ya on the coconut! I used to dislike it, but now I like it in just about everything 🙂
It’s so funny how much our tastes change over time!
Dr. Seuss holds so many memories for me…we grew up with them read aloud, quoting them, reading them to little siblings…so it’s kind of a part of family history/culture. I have always loved the lilting rhymes and the rhythm and swing the verse seems to have. But story-wise, I just accept it as silliness for the most part, and embrace the kid I really am inside! 😉
Okay, Random Thing 1: I love your bedspread! Did someone make it for you?
2) Just discovered today on a blog: carrot hot dogs! Have you ever heard of those before?! I am so curious, I want to try it. (http://www.cleaneatingveggiegirl.com/2013/07/02/vegan-carrot-hot-dogs/)
3) On the topic of cooking, I had a recipe creation idea hit me the other day out-of-the-blue and *at night*; first time that has ever happened to me! And even though I am sure tons of people have thought of it, done it, and there are probably a million and one recipes online for it already, one of these days, I just am going to try my hand at my own version. I want to make one of my favorite drinks (Salted Caramel Mochas 🙂 ) into a no-bake pie, or maybe possibly into a cookie? Both?
4) About time flying…the older I get, the more I find that to be true, you know? And, thank goodness, it works for unpleasantness, too. Though the time might not fly as fast, you do get through sooner than you thought. I thought this week was going to be eternal, but here we are and it’s almost Friday!)))
I love Dr. Seuss memories! It’s silly awesomeness 🙂
1.) Thank you! My mom makes quilts, and this was my Christmas present a few years ago! It’s still my favorite one she’s done 🙂
2.) Whoa! I’ve never heard of those before. As much as I love regular hot dogs, I would totally be up for trying that! Carrots are pretty cool, too.
3.) Oooh that’d be awesome! I think the coffee flavor might make it a little different from anything I’ve seen… lot of mocha stuff and lots of chocolate-salted caramel, but combining the two, I’ve never seen. Good luck! I’d love to see what you come up with!
4.) That’s so true! I was dreading so much about this week, but (a) it wasn’t that bad at all – I had fun with it, and (b) it flew right by!
