Hey hey – happy Thinking Out Loud Thursday! Welcome to that time of the week when I share what’s happening in my head and life. As usual, I’d love to know what’s happening in yours, too. Thanks for the link-up, Amanda!
1.) I kind of wish I could wear this every day.
{Thanks for the photo, Mrs. Antos!}
Background: I have a lot of Indian friends. After one of them graduated high school three years ago, she gave me this outfit (which used to be her little sister’s) to wear to her fancy graduation party. Another one of my high school friends had her grad party on Sunday, and I got to pull it out of my closet again. I just love it.
2.) When I eat tuna, I’m usually lazy. Do I like tuna salad? Yes. But if I can just open a can and eat some food, I’m probably going to do it. But this week I made a veggie-packed tuna salad to take for work lunches and it was a seriously good decision.
3.) My other lunch this week was a leftover fattoush salad and grilled chicken. I’m not really sure you can call it fattoush without sumac, though. And, well, we definitely bought sumac at Whole Foods last Friday, but neither my mom nor I could find it anywhere when I went to make dinner. So, it was veggies marinated in olive oil, lemon juice, and salt, and pepper. Very good and still refreshing, but not quite the same.
4.) I got to know one of the ladies who works on my floor over a walk and a nice chat this week. She’s super cool, is currently writing children’s books with her two daughters, and wants to start a blog. My advice for anyone who wants to start a blog? Go for it! Look out for a post about some of my favorite blogging tools!
5.) My great uncle made me have a big conversation with my whole family on Saturday about my future and career plans. The timing was weird, but I’m (again) so grateful to have all the support in the world, regardless of what that future ends up looking like.
6.) I said it when I started trying essential oils, and I’ll say it again: I’m a skeptic. I’ve long been resistant to trying out acupuncture and switching up what I eat, but now I’m all ears. All that’s to say that I’m seeing a holistic doctor today in hopes of some new treatment/pain management ideas.
7.) In other “go for it” news, I signed up to run the Disney Princess Half Marathon in February! And my aunt did, too!
I go through phases where I run regularly, but eventually my hip twinges and I stop for too long. Still, I love to run. A half is something I’ve wanted to do for a while, but I let my joints scare me out of it. After visiting the runner’s clinic last week (full post as soon as I get my results), I decided I felt pretty comfortable doing it. For the rest of the summer, I’m going to make an effort to run consistently, but not crazily. I want to get my body used to running more regularly and learn how to manage/avoid any weirdo hip and knee symptoms before I start actually training.
8.) My love of water has returned, thank goodness. It’s way too hot outside for my liking and I’m drinking pretty much constantly. That and eating all the fruit.
Why even bother putting it in a bowl when I’m just gonna eat it all anyway?
9.) Some people I work with were talking about messaging with GIFs the other day, and I want to know… do you like it? I love it. I get way too much satisfaction out of finding the appropriate one to send and smile a ton after I get particularly good ones, but some people just don’t get it.

We’ve already talked about the half (still really excited for you) and YASSSS sari’s are the best and you look GORGEOUS! I think we were both made for them 😀 I love gifs. I wish I didn’t for the sake of sparing other people. But I love them.

You’re the sweetest, and thanks for listening/encouraging me to go for it. Have so much fun this weekend!
Congrats on registering for the half marathon, I feel like I would be so happy running that race just because it’s in Disney! Haha! I love gifs, but some of them are kinda weird. I could literally eat a whole pint of blueberries too, and I have no shame about it.
Thanks, Marina! I’m a total Disney freak, so even though it’s gonna be a crazy weekend, I’m so looking forward to it!
O that is so exciting!!! The Disney runs seem SO fun too!!! That’s going to be awesome (#jealous).
Tuna is so lazy…and so darn good!!!
Lazy + good is my everyday lifesaver 😉

That Disney Half has been one that I’ve always wanted to do! And that dress you are wearing looks SO PRETTY!!!!
I used to not like tuna, but now I really love it, and putting it on a salad is a great way to get in that extra protein.
I think tuna is pretty polarizing, but I’m glad I’ve come to love it now 🙂
When I worked in an office I was the QUEEN at sending the perfect gifs. I think it’s so much fun and makes boring office life a little more fun!
LOL I can see that! It’s the perfect way to spice up life 🙂
Haha, I love GIFs! And I feel kind of cool that I get that meme, now that I’ve watched a bit of Game of Thrones. 😛
Thanks for sharing that article about St. Paul, too. I was in Canada when the shooting happened, but we were driving back the night of the protests and actually turned off the highway a few miles before we got to them. It is hard enough to see all of the violence going on in the US right now, but it feels much different when it happens half an hour away from you. It is such an uplifting article! <3
I have to avoid a lot of the intense coverage of all the violence, because I just get too down and sucked in if I get more than the basics, but that was one article I felt like I could really take in. Glad you enjoyed it, too!
Yay that’s so exciting that you are running a half marathon! I really wanna do one but the one I want is happening right around exam time which seems like a bad idea.
Also I love GIFs. Georgie and Christina are the queens of finding the right GIFs right? 😀
Hahaha this one is totally not great timing, but I just decided to go for it. Hopefully it all works out 🙂 And yes! They’re the queens of SO MUCH. 😀
Those blueberries look amazing! Now I want some haha. Congrats on your upcoming half-marathon, that’s so cool! I’m pretty obsessed with gifs so I’m all for them.
Blueberries are so good right now! Thanks, Aya 😀
I am hoping this new doctor is awesome as I know exactly how you’re feeling and I know how much of a relief it is when you find someone who just “works” for you!
I’m totally jealous that you’re running the Disney Princess Half – I wouldn’t even call myself a runner but I really want to do a Disney race one day (okay… only for the medal but hey!)
Thanks, Kristy! I’m hoping there’s someone who “works” 🙂
Hahaha I’d say the medal (and the “Disney”) is reason enough!
