Hey there, everybody! How’s your week treating you? Mine has been alright, if pretty busy. But hey, busy is nice, and it definitely helped me get back in the swing of things in Chicago after a weekend away. Anyway, it’s Thursday and on Thursdays Amanda gives me the chance to think out loud. So, here are some of those random thoughts floating around in my head.
1.) It is so endlessly crazy to think that next week I get to see the class schedules for next quarter. And the week after? I actually get to figure out what I’m taking. But wait. Then it’s practically Thanksgiving. And then finals. And winter break. Whoa. Where is first quarter going? I’m still brand new here… Really, I’m clueless.
2.) Um, next quarter is winter quarter. It’s my first winter in Chicago. And it is going to be chilly (understatement of the year?). I think I have all the necessary supplies, but if you want to send me boatloads of hot chocolate and, I don’t know, maybe a ski mask or something, I will gladly accept.

3.) Also, if I ever do complain about the cold, please just remind me that I actually have a hard time functioning when it’s too hot. I would really rather be cold. Really. And the snow is pretty.
4.) I’m really loving “fall back”. It means it’s actually light when I wake up! Sunlight makes chilly mornings that much more pleasant.
That said, walking back from evening activities in the dark isn’t super fun. But that’s what friends are for.
5.) Super random, but I’m reconsidering my hatred of potatoes. I usually only like them fried (French fries are one of my love languages, I’m pretty sure. Never mind, that’s food in general.), but one of about two things I think the dining hall does okay at are roasted potatoes. Still not crazy about mashed potatoes, but you never know. Oh! And sweet potatoes are good. Yep, my tastes may have changed here.
6.) I’m my house’s dining hall representative, and I have my first dining committee meeting today. I love my housemates. When I asked what I should bring up in the meeting, I got requests for everything from making the ketchup dispensers release more ketchup per pump to turning the dining hall into a giant Chipotle. (I’d be okay with that 😉 )
7.) One of the houses in my dorm is holding food-runs from now until the end of the quarter and they’re offering to bring Chipotle to your dorm room on Tuesdays.

You better believe I submitted my order for every single Tuesday.
Would you rather be {extremely} hot or cold?
What’s your favorite way to eat potatoes?
Chipotle: yay or nay?

Chipotle for dinner every Tuesday? Could you ask for a better school? 🙂

Haha well I certainly don’t think so 🙂 Love it here!
I’ve never had Chipotle before, though I’ve browsed their menu (looks amazing!) and I’ve heard tons of good reviews. So, so, SO want to try it!
I must admit, I don’t really like potatoes…but my favorite way (at least at this moment since I’m thinking of it :P) would probably be sweet potato fries – yummy! Sweet potatoes > all other potatoes any day!!
Ah, the cold/hot subject is an oft-discussed one between my sibs and I. 🙂 I am torn because I always said I’d rather be extremely cold, because you can always pile on more sweaters, blankets, socks, etc., but I’ve spent so much of the last year and half *perpetually* ice cold due to health issues, that I longed to be truly hot, and savored every scrap of summer we had…sooo not sure. Out of long-held principle, I’d say I prefer cold…but it’s definitely a close call. 😉
Yes. Chipotle. Try it. (The only problem might be that it’s been too built-up for you, but ugh it’s just really good so it’s hard not to build it up.)
I do love sweet potato fries. And I agree about sweet potato superiority. And being cold over warm. I just keep putting on clothes, and suddenly I look like a puffer fish, but at least I’m warm 🙂
Haha, how cool is that chipotle food run! Sounds awesome! I’m with you on lovin the sun in the morning and it always seems to be either too hot or too cold.. ahh life 🙂
Thankfully, life is pretty good if we can worry about simply being too hot or cold, so I’ll take it 🙂

I can take either hot or cold for short periods. I’d rather be moderately cold for long periods, but if it’s extreme and for a long period, I’d take hot. I think I’d eventually get used to it. I think it’s cheating to say you’d just put on more clothes if you’re cold. If you can get rid of the cold just by doing that, you weren’t really cold.
Grandma Slater’s goodie potatoes are the absolute best. If you want something more standard, I’ll take mashed. And Chipotle is more like Chipot-yay.
Chipot-YAY. I got some last night, too 🙂
Why do you hate potatoes?
I don’t know. I guess I just think they’re kinda dry and tasteless. But I’m coming around 😉
Chipotle TO YOUR DORM ROOM?! does life get better!? 😛 hah I live in NYC and yeah the cold winters definitely suck, but living in awesome cities def makes up for it! Get a sleeping bag coat! 😀
YES, IT IS FANTASTIC. I am sooo grateful to be in such a cool city, so I think bundling up is worth it (yep, I have the super long coat – and some scarves and hats and gloves and boots)!
I’ve never had Chipotle and it makes me so sad because everyone says it’s so good! I’m not a big fan of potatoes either. But sweet potatoes? Love! Cute blog! 🙂
Loveee Chipotle. And sweet potatoes. Thanks for stopping by!
