Happy Thursday, everybody! It’s been a busy/productive week over here so far, and today looks pretty busy, too. Little secret, though: I love busy days. I like having ways to fill my time, at least. Anyhow, today I’m linking up with Amanda to share some of my recent thinking… out loud (or on a screen, I guess?).
1.) The econ midterm was a little rougher/longer/worse than I was expecting. But, um, oh well. It’s over now and maybe there’ll be a curve? Maybe?
2.) On a more positive note, my midterms are over! I guess I do have another calc one in a couple weeks, but I’m done for now, and it’s honestly such a relief.
3.) Since I’m so fantastic at celebrating and such, I spent yesterday working a lot so I maybe don’t have much to do this weekend. With no class, I came back after breakfast, took a nap (I woke up really early), and got to work. The result? I knocked out Book 4 of The Republic and two chapters of econ reading.
{From the comfort of my bed}
4.) A lot of people find it really hard to study in their rooms because there are distractions everywhere. I find it really hard to study in public because there are distractions everywhere. Also, in my room, when I get particularly stressed, I can have mini dance parties with… myself. Yeah. I actually do that. It really helps. Please try it.

And yes, the idea definitely came from Grey’s Anatomy.
5.) I think I’ve made it pretty clear that I love pumpkin-flavored everything. I hope so. If not, I do. (Really, everything. English muffins, yogurt, almonds, Oreos, peanut butter…) But I also really just love pumpkin, and sometimes I neglect it. This week, I’ve gone back to eating it straight from the can. It’s perfect.
6.) Remember how last week I discovered how pathetic I am at bowling? Yeah, too bad. I plan on going back tonight. It was fun, and a nice end-of the week stress reliever.
7.) Halloween is this tomorrow! That means parties and costumes and candy and… Christmas?

Ugh. No. Too soon.
Have a lovely day!
How do you celebrate after a stressful week?
What are your thoughts on pumpkin?
Are you ready to see Christmas take over stores?
Fred Slater says
In general, I try to avoid stores. It cuts down on spending and that way I don’t have to worry about Christmas showing up too early. Similarly with fast-forwarding through all commercials.

That’s a smart approach.
Ooh, I like the dance-party-with-self-as-a-stress-reliever idea! ;P Isn’t it great to study in bed?? Love it.
My go-to de-stressing weekend activity is relaxing with a good book (one of my favorite ways to spend any free time…which, BTW, I’m pretty sure one has less and less of as one gets older and can think of more things to do with it :P), although I’m always on the look-out for new, more adventurous ideas! 🙂
I adore pumpkin everything as well, although I haven’t ever been able to eat it straight out of the can. Although I have been known to mix in salt and a little sweetener and eat it warmed in the microwave…but that is as “straight up” as I get. 😉
Haha I completely agree with your assessment of free time. It becomes more appealing and less available as you get older, for sure. But reading is a pretty excellent way to spend it!
Mmmm that actually sounds really good. Thanks for the idea – I might have to try that sometime! 🙂
Definitely ready to see Christmas take over the stores 😀 Welllll… maybe not -quite- yet, but I’m kind of over Halloween. Bring on the snowmen! And my favourite place to study has -got- to be a coffee shop. I kind of love the random background noise, and I swear the caffeine-saturated air makes me so much more productive. Or at least that’s what I like to tell myself
Haha I do appreciate the coffee shop thing. And, of course, caffeine in the coffee totally gets in the air. It’s a thing 😉
Good for you on knocking out more schoolwork during your free time. I’m with you on finding it more distracting to study & get work done out in public vs in your own home/space.
Thanks, Jessie! Sometimes I definitely need to venture out, but usually, I’m content to just chill and focus at home.
