Hey, there! How have you been? I’ve been – wait for it – busy. But life is pretty good. I don’t have much for ya in the way of intros, but what do you say we catch up via a little thinking out loud? Thanks for the link-up, Amanda!
1.) It’s my dad’s birthday! Happy Birthday, Daddy. Thanks for your love, support, humor, advice, and for constantly texting me links to articles and tweets you know I’ll appreciate. You’re the best.
And I get to see him tomorrow! My mom was planning to come for a baking convention, and he decided to come along! So I get to see them both this weekend.
2.) Midterm season is officially over for me. I turned in my essay yesterday morning, and I have about three weeks “off” until finals. I’ll take it!
3.) When I have one main thing I need to focus on, I neglect my planner and to-do list because thinking about all the other things I’m putting off stresses me out. I’ve gotten back into using them over the last couple days. And, well, let’s just say I put off a lot of stuff. Good news: I’m making progress!
4.) My econ professor was walking around the classroom the other day while we were solving an example problem individually and he stopped to comment on how colorful my notes are.
{I take notes with Flair pens}
I thought he was going to make fun of me, but he said he thought it was very helpful to write in different colors, and would teach in multi-colored chalk if people would just stop stealing it from the lecture hall.
5.) With fewer urgent things on my to-do list, I decided to actually take time yesterday morning to go to the gym and lift weights and do a kettlebell circuit. It’d been about two weeks since I’d done that. I’m a tiny bit sore right now.
6.) I have always been pretty indifferent to pears, but I’ve been buying some for the last few weeks and loving them. I think my impatience has led me to eat them before they were actually ripe in the past, so they never tasted like much of anything. When they’re slightly soft and juicy, though, they’re really flavorful and I think they’re pretty delicious.
7.) My school is pretty.
8.) It is currently pouring rain and late, and those are the perfect conditions for a good night’s sleep, so I’m going to end right here. I’ll be back tomorrow with some of my favorite things from the week!
Apples or pears? I still like apples better, but variety is always nice!
Any random things I should know?

Yay! You’re back! I know I get to chat with you nearly everyday, but I like reading about you, too. Have a fabulous day, love! <3

Thanks 🙂 See you later!!
I always used to write my notes in pretty colors – it definitely does help when you need to look back and study! Also, now I really want a pear!
I hope you get yourself a pear!

I love how you arranged the markers. 🙂 And your relationship with your daddy is really sweet! 🙂 Hope he has a wonderful birthday.
Thanks, Emily!
Happy birthday to your dad! And while apples will probably always be my number 1 favourite, a nice ripe pear kind of makes me weak in the knees — especially around this time when they’re in season!
It is the perfect time for pears right now, but I definitely feel the same way. I seriously love apples!
I loved taking notes in colors like that! Makes studying so much better too 🙂 And your campus looks beautiful!
My notes look pretty, so I (almost) want to look at them. 😉
Happy birthday Papa Uncommon!
YAY for midterms being over!!! Hopefully you get a chill three weeks before things pick back up again for the final exams. It never ends, does it? *sighs*
Apples for me. I’ve never actually tried a pear, I don’t think!
It never ends… and I probably wouldn’t have it any other way, even if it’s kinda rough sometimes!
Whoa, never? That’s interesting! I don’t think of them as being that uncommon.
I don’t mind the occasional pear but I’m definitely an apple girl at heart! Hope you get chance to have a mini belated birthday celebration with your dad when your parents visit at the weekend. xx
Apples win for me, too! Thanks, Charlie – I’m sure we’ll celebrate a bit!
I am a bigger fan of apples unless the pear is perfectly ripe. I cannot do unripe pears (they make my stomach hurt) and too ripe pears are too juicy and get all over me. Apples on the other hand are wonderful! Have a relaxing few weeks until finals 🙂
Same! Thanks, Ellie!
That’s kind of weird that you posted about your pens! My aunt just gave me a set of colored markers and an adult coloring book, and I worked on it the first time today. Despite the fact that art is really not my thing, it was fun and I really enjoyed seeing it come alive as if I was drawing it even though I was just coloring it in, lol!
I am iffy on both apples and pears out of hand because it’s so easy to get them wrong. Too mealy, too bland and flavorless, too dry…but I’d try a fresh pear before a fresh apple. Though I do absolutely love almost any other form of apple, but I like it so I can really taste the apple flavor.
My mom recently gave me some colored pencils and coloring pages! I haven’t broken into them yet, but I’m looking forward to it. It’s supposed to de-stress you… but I’ve been too busy lately to do de-stressing things 😉
Interesting! I think of apples as being pretty consistent (as long as they aren’t Red Delicious). I do lovelovelove cooked apples, though!!
Your so pretty Ellen! I am definitely an apple person. I’ve tried to like pears, but I just can’t seem to get into them. Maybe one day 😉
Thanks, Edye! Apples are pretty awesome 🙂
sometimes i wish professors would SLOW.DOWN. so i would have time to switch between pen/pencil/highlighter/otherpen, but they dont, haha.
I can only use multiple pens for some classes for that reason 😛
