Hey there, and happy Thinking Out Loud Thursday! I hope you’re having a lovely week. This week is kinda crazy over here (do I say that every week?), but it’s a fun one. I went to a concert last night and I’m squeezing in some last time with friends before they head off to school this weekend. It’s also my last week of work for the summer, so that’s exciting! Before we get to the randomness characteristic of my Thinking Out Loud posts, I want to let you know that I really appreciated all your comments on Tuesday’s post. You’re awesome and I love hearing from you. Now, onto the random thoughts! Thanks for the link-up, Amanda!
1.) This week, I had the most amazing Asiago cheese bagel I’ve had in a long time. I just thought you should know 🙂
It looked like that. Sometimes, there isn’t enough cheese or it’s just doughy and a little less flavorful, and therefore a bit disappointing. This was super fluffy and cheesy and warm. (Side note: I am probably definitely being obnoxiously picky. Asiago cheese bagels are great. Cheese + bread = heaven. The end.)
2.) Relatedly, my Chipotle bowls have been a little less than wonderful lately, even to the point where I don’t look forward to eating them. As someone who has once had Chipotle every day in a week… this is huge, guys. I had a pretty great one on Tuesday, though. All the ingredients were perfect and I was very happy.
But this fabulous bowl came with drama. I was driving home from a long, blah-ish, day of work and offered to pick up dinner. I swung by Chipotle and saw a crazy-long line. Granted, it was 6:30 pm, so it was probably inevitable. I waited for a half an hour, no big deal. But after a half hour of waiting and being assaulted by the delicious scent of Chipotle and arriving home, I picked up the bag, took it out of the car, and… splat. Some combination of black bean and salsa juice soaked through not only the bottom of the bowls, but also the bag, resulting in Chipotle all over the driveway. On a better day, this would’ve been a mere annoyance, but I was exhausted and about 2 seconds away from a hangry meltdown. After clearing off the driveway, my mom went out to get new (free) Chipotle. In the meantime, I went for a longish calming walk. And then I enjoyed a (fortunately) amazing Chipotle bowl.
3.) Target is my friend.
This is what we bought, minus most of the food. It was fun. ❤️
4.) I’ve helped my mom out with some volunteer work recently, and whenever I do I’m amazed at how fast time passes. Seriously, when I feel like something should take me 10 minutes, it takes 30, and I’m so surprised to look at the clock and realize how much later it is.
5.) A week from now, I’ll be in San Francisco! I can’t begin to say how excited I am. Yay, vacation!
6.) With all the lovely summer fruit, I think I forgot about grapes. I’ve been eating them the past couple days and can’t get enough. They’re so refreshing!
And that’s all for me today! Have a great one!
Red or green grapes?
Anything else I should know?

Have fun in San Fran!!! SO exciting!
Grapes have been the only fruit ALWAYS spot on at the store this summer! I’ll eat red or green, as long as they’re firm and sweet!
Thanks!
I’m pretty much the same way with grapes. As long as they’re good ones, I don’t care what color they are!
Red grapes are by far my pick of choice! I have to say that I am looking forward to apple season- they are my favorite fruit. Have a great Thursday, Ellen!
Apples are my favorites, too! I eat them year-round, even though they aren’t as good a lot of the time as they are in the fall. LOVE apples.
I LOVE crispy cheese on bread/muffins, cheese is the best <3. I also love love love going to San Fransisco as I live nearby, so I hope you have a lot of fun girl! What parts will you be going to?
Crispy cheese is fabulous <3
Thanks! I know we're staying in the city, and that we'll "wing it" some of the time. But we're definitely going to Sausalito, a Giants game, Alcatraz, Muir Woods, and also heading to Napa for a day or so. That's just what I know off the top of my head, but I'd gladly take any recommendations 😉
Oh no! I am so sorry about the Chipotle! I’m not a big grape person, but red grapes are definitely preferred. I used to like them both pretty much equally, but recently the green ones just don’t cut it for me. And you are coming to SF? That’s practically spitting distance from us. Well, not really, but it feels like it! Especially since our grandparents are visiting us from there and that makes it seem closer, I don’t know why. 😀 Anyway, have fun!
Thanks, Abbie!
Chipotle on the driveway when I was hangry would seriously make me have a meltdown. Actually, Chipotle on the driveway at any time would probably make me cry because we don’t have it up here so it’s kind of a big deal whenever I get a chance to eat it. And heck YES to grapes! Have you tried freezing them? So crazy addicting that way.
I adore frozen grapes! I tried them that way for the first time last year and I can’t believe it took me so long to do it. But I’d say the number I’ve eaten since then is a good start toward making up for lost time 🙂
Red grapes all the way!
Yum!
Red grapes, all the time! If they’re green, I’ll pass. Funny, because for the longest time, I assumed people at parties only ate the green ones so there would be enough red for other people, and that no one really *liked* the green ones (why, I don’t know, because then why would they even be sold…). Then I worked serving lunch at this one event, and I gave people a choice between red and green. To my complete surprise, most people didn’t care, and there were even some who *chose* green…over red!! My red-grape-loving-mind was blown. 😛
You’re killing me, Ellen!! I know *just* what you mean about the perfect Asiago bagel!! We get our Asiagos at Costco, and every time we get some, my brother or I will dig through, trying to find the freshest, cheesiest, most perfect bagels. And when you get one of those, you feel like you’re in the land of heavenly perfection. 🙂
Haha I love all grapes, as long as they’re not mushy or something.
Love that you and your brother seek out the perfect bagel! That’s adorable.
Red grapes for sure! That bagel, and the salad too, look amazing!
So much goodness 😀
I actually have a weird thing about grapes where I prefer them mixed. I don’t usually loveee just green or just red grapes but I LOVE them mixed together! It’s the perfect sweet and sour mix 🙂
That’s really interesting! I’ve never thought of that, but it sounds really smart! I’ll have to give that a try 🙂
I love going to Target! I can’t help but always buy something when I’m there. I am definitely more of red grape fan, though I do like to freeze the green ones and eat them frozen 🙂
I like both red & green normally, but I agree that the green ones are a bit better frozen!
RED! Also, that Asiago cheese bagel looks so good. I keep craving Panera bagels but been trying to cut back on my bread intake. We’ll see if I make it through the weekend though… ha
Haha cravings do tend to have a mind of their own 😉
