Hey there and happy Thinking Out Loud Thursday! I hope you’re having a wonderful week so far. I have a bit of a break from work this week, so I’ve been running errands, eating a whole bunch of yummy food, working on some back-end blog stuff, and relaxing. It’s been nice. It’s been a while since I’ve used Pinterest as inspiration, so I thought I’d use it to think out loud a bit. Thanks for the link-up, Amanda!

I stumbled into the house carrying 12 jam-packed bags and a gallon of milk the other day. I relate.
I adore daily odd compliments. They’re so accurate. They’re the kind of things you think but don’t usually say – even though you should maybe say them more often. And, let’s be honest, this is the best kind of friend. ❤️
I also adore pizza. This looks like an easy homemade version of a classic cheese pizza. Thinner crusts are my favorites.
I love Sally’s recipes, if you hadn’t noticed. BBQ chicken pizza is a staple in my life and I’d love to try a homemade version soon!
This describes me kind of really way too well. I truly do like hanging out with some people, but I need some alone time. And I also need the people I spend time with to be people I genuinely like, or I end up really drained.
These pancakes look like dreams. They’re made with coconut flour, which I love playing with, and topped with a ton of blueberries. Yum.
You have a pretty great track record. Remember that and keep your head up. And, hey, it’s almost the weekend. You can do this! 🙂
Do you try to carry all your grocery bags at once?
Would you consider yourself a very social person?
What else should I know?

Oh boy, I can relate to the grocery bag pin. I do take all of the groceries even though it leaves me out of breath and sore for a few days 😀

It’s funny that we’d rather work hard for one trip than simply take the time for two easier ones. Oh, well! It seems a lot of people do it 🙂
😆 Ohhh the grocery bags. So I’m the one hobbling around looking like I’m about to tip over as I carry 10+ bags with me. And the worst part is that I live in a condo so it takes me a while to get from my car to my front door. I have this sneaking suspicion that people look at me and just thing what.the.eff.
“Hobbling” describes what I do perfectly. It’s really kind of embarrassing when I’m at school and I have to walk the fairly long distance from the curb to my dorm. Lots of funny looks. 🙂
YEESSSS to the grocery bags!! I do not have the timmmee for two trips.
YES. I just want the groceries in my house and unpacked as fast as possible.
You are totally right about one thing – Sally’s Baking Addiction truly does have some of the best recipes I’ve made to date.
I don’t think I’ve made a bad one yet – her site is my go-to for recipes!
I totally do the grocery bag thing! I had 8 HEAVY bags yesterday, plus my purse and gym bag and I somehow stumbled everything up the stairs in my apartment in one trip. No time for two trips!
Exactly! And, hey, makes me feel pretty strong to haul them all at once 😉
Hahaha, yes! All the bags! Since I do the shopping though, I take a few in with me when I first get in the the house, then I yell to my brother to get everything else (which he proceeds to try to carry EVERYTHING at once).
Smart! Call in the reinforcements 🙂
I pretty much turn into the incredible hulk whenever there are a few grocery bags to carry. We also live on the third floor so I basically get in an intense workout whenever we go grocery shopping because #OneTripOnly.
I am honestly not the most social person- I am a pretty intense introvert. However I can be social when I put in the effort, but a lot of the times I feel like I am kind of pretending to be social if you know what I mean.
Oooh yeah stairs can be killer. I live on the fourth floor at school, so I typically take the elevator because sometimes laziness wins 😉 And because the stairs are farther away than the elevator.
I relate! I’m very introverted and need breaks even from people I absolutely love being around. I’m pretty good at putting up a social front, but it’s definitely draining.
Haha, I love the little quips you share! They make me smile…I can usually relate as well. 😛 I *love* the bad day track record one; I really should remember that more often. Thanks for the laugh!
For whatever reason, I am always trying to carry in as many bags as possible, even if I know I’ll for sure have to make a second trip. Apparently, to my brain, one overloaded trip + one light trip is better? faster? than two trips carrying a normal amount of bags. 🙂
Actually, that almost could have been a quote from me about people I socialize with. I just get drained socializing, *especially* if it means making small talk like 90% of the time…it’s exhausting!! But when I am around people I love and am comfortable with, it takes me a lot longer to get drained, probably because I don’t have to do the “socially acceptable” thing of making conversation and filling the airwaves with meaningless nothings.
As for Thursday randomness…
1) I am not really a jewelry person, because, although I love the idea of it, I mostly just forget to put any on in the morning. Today, though, I just felt like wearing earrings…so I did. 🙂
2) Random election days are such a pain. We have one coming up next Tuesday, and it just seems like a huge hassle to fill it out and send it in, even though it’s a no-brainer on what I’m voting for. But, on the bright side, I’m thankful for my right to vote.
3) I wish one got paid to be a professional student. I keep hearing about all these topics and classes that sound so interesting, and I want to learn it all (though I know I’d promptly forget it! 😛 ).
Thanks for the opportunity to make my weird contribution to the day! 😛 Enjoy the rest of your week…glad you were able to get a bit of a break!
I do the bag thing, too. I think I secretly hope I’ll be able to make it in one trip.
I really, really, really hate small talk and I have to explain that to people. It’s not necessarily that I don’t want to talk to you – it’s just that I don’t want to talk if there really isn’t anything to say! So, yes, when I’m comfortable with people, my battery life is much longer 🙂
1.) Sometimes fancy-ing life up is fun 🙂
2.) It’s nice to notice the little things we take for granted!
3.) Same. As long as I’m not constantly graded? Is that a thing?
Have a great Friday!
Ok I’m officially hungry now… Both of those pizza recipes look fabulous 🙂
Riiiight? I love pizza.
Okay, that pizza and those pancakes both look amazing.
1) I carry about half of my grocery bags, then call my husband and disappear 😛
2) I like being social for about 10 minutes… and with my cat… does my cat count?
3) Catfish are the only animals that naturally have an odd number of whiskers. (I googled ‘random facts’) 😛
1.) Hahaha very smart move 🙂
2.) Same. Except with my dog. Occasionally I talk to her more than people. It’s not a big deal 😉
3.) Ohmygoodness I love trivia. That is so weird! Catfish are odd 😀
Ok, I’m totally sold on doing pancakes on Saturday. I’ve seen so many pancakes this week, and I think it’s bout time!
The groceries thing? Oh boy. I totally do that. I always kick the front door open with a bit of a bang and then stumble in with all my groceries. :p
Pancakes are always a good idea 😀
I barely got the door open the other day, made sure my dog wasn’t underfoot, and promptly dropped everything on the floor. But I made it in one trip – and that’s obviously what matters 😉
I make multiple trips to and fro getting the grocieries and bringing them back into the house. The days where I only have to make one trip are rare and priceless. I wouldn’t say that I’m antisocial, but I am very shy and it takes me a while before I approach someone and start talking.
I think your grocery method is probably smarter than mine! And I definitely take a bit of time to warm up to people, too.
Bbq chicken pizza is fantastic, I agree with you there. And I think living on the third floor of my current apartment building makes it mandatory that I try to carry all bags and odds and ends at one time. Two trips? No thanks! Haha
I was the same way at school. Fourth floor dorm room necessitates one trip, no matter how tough that one trip is.
I try SO hard to make it with the groceries in one trip. Only occasionally am I successful! But then again, my driveway is long, and one time when I was little my brother spilled a gallon of milk. The hesitance is still clearly impressed in my mind.
Haha I’d be a bit hesitant after the spilled milk incident, as well.
Funny, I’m completely the opposite on the pizza crust front; I like it soft, thick and chewy. Both those pizzas looked scrumptious, but the BBQ one was really calling my name. I have a soft spot for BBQ anything!
I love the track record pin; funny, but a good reminder at the same time! Those are the best!
Yes, I try to carry all bags in all at once anytime we shop that isn’t our regular grocery shopping trip. Because we shop at Costco, and they don’t do bags, I’m going to be making billions of trips anyway, so in my mind it doesn’t really matter if I have to make one more because I didn’t load myself down on my first trip. I grab just enough so that I’m full, but not uncomfortable and call it good. 🙂
Normally, I’d say I’m not very social; I’m introverted, and I’m much more comfortable listening to conversations than making them. But right now my people tank is so low (long story), that I soak up any social event like a sponge. I haven’t felt drained in forever, or that burning need for some “me time”. It’s a little disconcerting, and I hope my theory is right as to why this is happening to me, because I feel like I have a split personality right now, and I really hope it’s not the new me! I feel like telling myself, “Just pick one side or the other and stick with it, won’t you?!” I guess I’m saying I’m not sure who I am right now socially. Besides awkward. 😛 I got that down. 😉 Anyway, thanks for enduring me going on and on about that! 😀 It’s probably way more than you wanted to know! 😉
BBQ sauce is so tasty and versatile! I even dip fries in it… that might be weird, but I love it.
Sounds like you’re a smart grocery bag-carrier 😉
It’s definitely a little disconcerting if you start feeling like a different person, but if you’re more comfortable around people right, now I wouldn’t fight it! Sure, “me time” is healthy, but only if you actually enjoy it. LOL I’ve got socially awkward covered, too. No worries – I hope you have a wonderful weekend, Abbie!
