This week has been better (but possibly even busier?) than last. Originally, I didn’t think I really had all that much to share, but that’s changed a lot in the past day or so. Thankfully, it’s Thinking Out Loud Thursday, so I get to spill all my random thoughts. Thanks, Amanda!
1.) Like I said Tuesday, I have been trying to figure out my summer and applying to a million jobs and internships (to pretty much no avail). Within the last couple days, I’ve had two interviews, I have one today, one tomorrow, and one next week. Even if none of them amount to anything, I’m super grateful for all of the interview experience. 🙂
2.) My interview tomorrow is for a job in Columbus, so I’m flying home late tonight and coming back to Chicago on Saturday evening.
3.) That means I get to see my family for a short time! And eat yummy meals 😀
4.) It also means I get to talk to some middle school students about preparing for high school and college. I really feel like even though there is a lot of pressure associated with college, no one really takes the time to tell most younger kids what to expect. And I love talking about school.
5.) S’mores Oreos are a thing. I read a less-than-stellar review, but I’ll be trying them anyway. I doubt they’ll be as good as S’mOreos, but can they really be bad?

6.) The dining hall served “breakfast for dinner” last night. I love breakfast at all times of the day. The dining hall’s execution wasn’t exactly wonderful, but I did become interested in the concept of breakfast pizza. These are two of my favorite things. And now I need to make a version.

7.) This week has been kind of a whirlwind of stuff in general. Not bad, kind of good, but still crazy. Wherever you are, whatever kind of week you’re having (though I hope it’s wonderful!), remember:

What do you wish you’d known about high school and college when you started?
S’mores Oreos? S’mOreos? Breakfast pizza? Thoughts?
What else is running through your brain today?

I am also scrambling to find a job this summer also! Thankfully, I am signed up to volunteer at my local hospital. I’m super excited about that 🙂

That sounds like a great experience! I hope you enjoy it – and find a job 😀
I am just thinking “BUENA SUERTE” with the interviews. TE AMO.
Thanks, Grandma! Love you <3
I’ll admit that I’m not crazy about s’mores, but I have a hard time picturing s’mores Oreos getting bad reviews. The world is crazy. And I’d be perfectly fine with breakfast pizza. Or dessert pizza. Or anything pizza, really 😛
Dessert pizza is excellent! I may have a few ideas for that lined up for this summer, assuming I’m back in my kitchen 😀
So funny…just the other day, my mom was telling me about the s’mores Oreos, and I, of course, immediately thought of you. I was wondering if you would say something about them, and since I was a little dubious, I was like, “Well, we’ll see if Ellen likes them, because I’m guessing she’ll try the…m” lol! I like real S’mores and S’moreos that you make with regular Oreos (although peanut butter S’moreos are even better! 🙂 ), so I’m not so sure how I’d like the new S’mores flavor…but I’m open to trying it. 😉
I wish someone had told me when I was younger that time goes faster and you actually have *less* time the older you get!
My brain has been so confused this week, as we had to switch around our regular schedule and do different things on irregular days…so I’m constantly like, “What day of the week is it again?” And I still have the 101-things-running-around-in-my-head-thing still going on…but onto other, more random thoughts…
1) It’s lovely (for me 😛 ) to feel hot again. No jacket ever all day long! Going barefoot! The joys of the beginning of summer…
2) It’s funny to think that you never know when some little thing is going to drastically change the rest of your life. Or even sometimes with big things, you don’t realize the widespread impact some event or interchange will have. But we make it through, and even if it’s not a path we would’ve particularly chosen, we are stronger because of it.
3) I can’t believe Memorial Day is already upon us!! It seems like last Memorial Day was just a month or so ago (how does that happen??), and especially as I was recalling with fond nostalgia what I was doing last year at this time. Time flies by so fast, and I keep trying to slow it down. Maybe I should just try to keep up, lol! 😉
Oh, I’ll be sure to let you know when I try them! 😉
1.) Warm days are nice. Hot days are a little iffy. But I’m still totally looking forward to summer.
2.) Mmmm. All I have to say is “yes”. I agree 🙂
3.) CRAZY TIME IS MOVING TOO FAST.
Busy + Good are my favorite kinds of weeks! I sincerely hope all of your interviews for jobs/internships go well! I will be sending my prayers your way.
Prior to starting both high school and college, I wish that I had known (and I mean REALLY known, because yeah people told me but I did not listen) that life goes on. Regardless of the horrible drama going on in that instant… life will go one. It is true!
Mine, too! Thanks so much, Julia 🙂
Gah, that’s such a big one. Everything feels like the end of the world – but it’s not at all. Life goes on!
When my mom mentioned that Oreos was coming out with a s’mores flavor, I immediately thought of you. 🙂 That S’mOreo looks delicious… I’m kind of intrigued by the s’mores flavor, but I think I would rather have a real-deal s’mores. =S The breakfast pizza…brilliant! Man, I want to try that now!
1. Why is being all hot and sweaty on a hot day (especially after a walk) so fun at the beginning of summer? <-Is that just me?
2. Just got a new CD by one of my favorite artists in from the library, and I can't wait to listen to the songs! New music rocks!!
1.) It’s ONLY fun at the beginning. After like two weeks, I’m so over it 😉
2.) New music is the besssst! Enjoy, Abbie 🙂
I have an aversion to marshmallows, so s’mores Oreos and smoreos sound kind of gross to me. I think it’s one of those things I think I don’t like, but actually eating it would be just fine. It’s more about my perception. But I love that multiple commenters think of you first when a new Oreo flavor comes out!
I like toasted marshmallows, but definitely am not crazy about “raw” ones. And, yep, I feel special 😀
