Happy Thursday! Somehow the week is almost over (and the quarter is almost a third over), and I’m not entirely sure how. Basically, life is crazy and time is flying. And now I’m going to slow down for a minute and think out loud with Amanda.
1.) Thank you all so much for your responses to my (slightly rambly) heavier post on Monday. Between comments, phone calls, texts, and emails, I ended the day reassured that transitions (particularly the one to college) can be rough on pretty much everybody. That said, can we talk about these things more and stop pretending everything is perfect?
2.) Speaking of transitioning to college… we have more prospies! Last night, we had pizza and chocolate-y desserts with them (though I guess they arrived a little late, so most food went to current students) and watched Mean Girls.

It was Wednesday. I wore pink.
3.) I don’t feel like I can possibly start midterms next week. Not because I don’t feel prepared, necessarily, but didn’t I just get back from spring break? Okay, I’ll shut up about how fast time goes. But probably only for a couple of days. Sorry.
4.) Sometimes I think about the fact that I love food and that 90% of the food in the dining hall is not very good and get really sad because I love tasty food.

And then I usually eat peanut butter with a spoon and feel a little bit better. But I still can’t wait until I have a fully-stocked kitchen and time to cook delicious things.
5.) Very randomly, I’ve been wanting Pop-Tarts for about two weeks now. I used to eat them quite a bit, but it’s been a while since I’ve had them. Maybe I’ll pick some up at the grocery store this week. I think the hardest part might be deciding what flavor to get.
6.) Sometimes I get stressed out. And then I step outside and it is so pretty and all the stress and worry dissipates and life is lovely again.
That’s all for me today. Have a wonderful day!
Have you seen Mean Girls? Favorite quote?
Do you like Pop-Tarts? What’s your favorite flavor?
Any random thoughts? I’d love to hear 🙂

S’mores. The s’mores flavour will always and forever be my favourite Poptart 😀 Either that or the maple and brown sugar. Really… anything but the fruity ones 😆 And Mean Girls is such a classic. I seriously need to watch it again. Been TOO long.

I’ve never tried the s’mores ones, but I do adore the brown sugar ones. Hmmm decisions, decisions. Yes, watch Mean Girls again! I love that even though I’ve seen it a million times, it’s still amusing 😀
I love Poptarts and haven’t had them in so long!! My fave is the brown sugar one. Or just the classic strawberry with white icing on top.
Those are two of my faves, too! I love that the strawberry ones have sprinkles 😀
Oh wow, we’re starting final exams in a little over a week! Eek! Not looking forward to that at all….
Wow. Yeah, I guess schools on semesters are almost done. Haha that’s so crazy to think about. Good luck! I’m sure you’ll do wonderfully!
Yes! I don’t mind more posts like Monday’s…many people are going through similar things to each other and it’s too bad that often our culture says we should pretend that our lives are 100% awesome and only talk about the happy stuff…’cause we need to talk about hard stuff too!
I’ve never had Pop-Tarts, but I don’t like the way they smell, so I can’t imagine I’d like them.
I totally agree with you about the time flying past! And it gets faster every day, it seems!
On a similar, but more random note, how come is it that when you try to “work ahead” so you can have one solid chunk of free time, that free time never comes, and you just find more work you had to do?? 😉
Also…I love endorphins. Hate working out, but love the way it makes me feel, alive and ready to take on pretty much anything life throws at me. For that reason alone, I could *almost* be persuaded to work out every day…almost.
Happy Thursday! 🙂
I agree. I think to avoid being negative, we avoid talking about negative things, if that makes sense. But then they build up and spill out anyway, so it helps to just tackle them upfront.
Hmmm. I can understand that. They’re quite sweet/processed…. oh well, more for me!
YES. I try to get ahead so I can feel on top of everything… and more “stuff” just shows up. Not cool.
I understand that. I work out because it helps me feel more awake and ready for the day, etc., but sometimes it’s hard to convince myself to do it. That said, it’s also hard for me to convince myself not to do it. It’s a weird balance 😛
Haha, don’t worry I think you’ll actually miss the dining hall experiences more than the food after you’re out of college. I do not miss the food (okay, I kinda miss having a daily salad bar…) but I miss the memories made with friends and my then boyfriend, now fiance, made in those dining halls.
The salad bar is definitely nice, I’ll give it that. And that’s so sweet (and SUCH a good way to think about it)… I wouldn’t trade the people/memories for anything 🙂 Thanks, Kaylin!
