I have no real intro for you, as I’m still in kind of a scattered state. But thankfully, Amanda has eliminated the need for one of those. Happy Thinking Out Loud Thursday, everybody! Time for some random thoughts.
1.) If I’d done all the things I mean to do over break, I’d be a lot less scattered. I intended to write a few applications, all my thank-you notes, and make a bunch of phone calls. About 10% of that got done, so now I’m scrambling to do it before my workload ramps up. Smart.
2.) THE WEATHER. It is beautiful. I was almost too warm walking back from class yesterday. What?!?
3.) Also, it’s supposed to snow on Friday. Yep. Really not okay with this.
4.) I’m in this super fabulous pattern of waking up around 5:15. I go to the gym and feel fine, and then I go to class. During class, I’m sleepy and I plan on taking a nap when I get back to my dorm. And then by the time I’ve walked back, I’m wide awake. So I try to accomplish something, eat some lunch, accomplish more things… and I never feel sleepy enough to nap. Next thing I know, it’s 10:30 and I’m ready to go to bed. Then, I wake up crazy early again. Never enough sleep.
5.) Still, my schedule works with my crazy sleep, so I guess I’ll take it.
6.) Two of my sanity-savers have been chocolate and Diet Coke. And it’s only first week? Uh-oh.
7.) Also, I don’t really like milk chocolate.
But this is wonderful.
Have a lovely Thursday!
What randomness do you have for me?

We went from having gorgeous weather to dealing with snow too, so I definitely feel your pain there. And I know what you mean about not being too crazy about milk chocolate. It used to be the only kind i’d eat, but now? I prefer the more intense flavours of dark.

Why can’t the weather just make up its mind? 😉 And I relate completely… milk chocolate is kinda too mellow now (but this particular one tastes like cookies & cream, so it has plenty goin’ on 🙂 ).
Hopefully you can get everything done that you wanted to accomplish! I don’t like milk chocolate either! It’s too.. sweet? I’m not sure what it is but it just does not satisfy me :O Hope you have a lovely and productive Thursday!
I definitely agree that it’s too sweet. Too much sugar, not enough flavor 😛 Thanks! It’s shaping up pretty well, I hope yours is, too!
Love the title of this series! It’s so cute!
Thanks 🙂 But I can’t take credit – courtesy of Amanda @ runningwithspoons.com!!
Totally know what you mean about sleep…I frequently promise myself if I do my morning, I’ll make time for an afternoon nap. But on the off-chance that I do have time to lie down, I’m wide awake and laying down just makes me feel drugged or something after I get up.
And that whole 10% done? So me this last week…I kind of feel like I’ve been chasing the wind, trying to get everything done. But I’m making progress, which is the point, right? 🙂
Randomness…
1) I have this love/hate thing with Thursdays. I can sleep in longer on Thursdays, but I usually feel more sluggy throughout the day.
2) Talking of the weather, I think sun is the world’s best motivator…I <3 sunny days! 🙂
3) I love rereading old journals! Note to self: do that more. 😉
4) Sometimes I wonder how I could ever live without texting. I mean, I know I could, but being my main connection with friends/family? It's hard to imagine and easy to be grateful!!
1.) Completely understand feeling like you’re dragging on sleep-in days.
2.) EVERYTHING feels different/happier/lighter/better when it’s sunny. It’s so great.
3.) Reading old thoughts is super fun. I wish I’d kept more of a record of my life when I was younger!
4.) Yes. I text allllll the time. It’s the best!
Lol, one time I had a bunch of things I wanted to do, and I had free time one day, so I got 5 emails written and sent, and felt really good about myself for getting all that done…until I started getting responses back. =S Then I was kind of back to square one. I totally get the promising yourself a nap, and then not being sleepy! Then bedtime sneaking up on you… That happens to me all the time, too!
I’m not sure how the thinking out loud works, but here goes:
1. Since I “just” got home from vacation, I’ve been having a bout of missing people. Sometimes the people I got to see, sometimes just other random people I miss. So my favorite people have been filling my thoughts lately.
2. My sister and I have this theory that as you get older, it’s harder to have a good cry. This theory is still being tested, but this week, I’ve felt sure it’s true. I tear-up all the time, but having a good cry is a lot harder. And there’s nothing quite like it.
3. On a happier note: We have this lot of land that we didn’t sell when we sold our house 8 years ago, and not quite a year ago, we were contacted by developers who were interested in buying it. However, it fell through because the city was very troublesome (I think). Skipping all the boring stuff I don’t really understand, the important thing is that yesterday, my parents signed papers to start the selling process over again with the same developers! This is huge for us, since we’re paying so much in property taxes, the relief from that alone is a big deal! So I am really excited about this, and hope it goes through!
1.) I understand. Missing people is sooo tough, and I’ve had my fair share of that this year because… college 😛
2.) I think this is true largely because there’s no time to really prepare for it/set aside for it. Also, it’s a lot easier to convince yourself to just “suck it up” and not cry because you’re a “grown-up” or something. But then sometimes it all builds and tears spill over and you feel SO MUCH BETTER.
3.) CONGRATULATIONS! That must be such a relief 🙂

Good luck on getting all your stuff done! I don’t like chocolate, any kind, dark, milk, etc. I will eat some occasionally, but I am just not a fan. My friends think I am weird lol
Haha I’m a chocoholic, so feel free to send any that comes across your path my way 😉 Have a great weekend, Amy!
I just looove the Lindt ‘Hello’ chocolates! In fact, I love them so much that I’ve made an entire post about them ^.^
