Happy Thinking Out Loud Thursday! Today is (hopefully) the day I find out I get into the class I want. And also the day of my first quiz of the quarter. And also National Hot Chicken Day. Look it up? Anyway, I’ve caught you up on some deep thoughts and a day in the life, but there’s a little more randomness to talk about. So, let’s get into what’s happening in my life and mind this week.
1.) When I described Roti to my dad on Saturday night, he was like, “Nah, Mediterranean food isn’t my thing.” We had Chipotle instead, which is a choice I’ll never complain about. Sunday for lunch, he was magically up for it. He loved it (so did my mom and I).
Guys, Roti is great and I want one in Columbus ASAP.
2.) I think I said this on Monday, but I somehow went over 3 weeks without going to yoga. Basically, I went once before my finals last quarter and then didn’t make it a priority over spring break. I broke that streak Monday night, and oh my goodness, I missed it.
3.) The only time I’m okay with my nails growing more than two millimeters past my fingertips is when I have a gel manicure that hasn’t chipped yet.
Even then, they drive me kind of crazy.
4.) I’ve been back to school for like four days and I feel like my desk is a disaster (yay new books that I’ve just stacked everywhere?) and I need to throw things away and clean. Maybe this weekend. Update: I did get rid of the broken fan and its box. It felt good.
5.) My psych class has a requirement that we spend 3 hours as lab subjects. I did my first hour yesterday and have a follow-up today. I just… sat in front of a computer and rated descriptions and pictures on their emotional intensity. But I didn’t think very many of them were that intense. At first, I felt heartless, but then I decided they should have picked higher-quality pictures.
6.) I bought new jeans over spring break, and wore them all day Tuesday. It wasn’t until I was sitting cross-legged on the floor of my last class that I noticed the whole back of the right leg had little rips. Welp. Guess those are going back.
7.) I need a better strategy for my Mondays and Wednesdays. I have nowhere I have to be, and nothing puts me into a seriously depressed place faster than staying in my apartment all day. It’s not that I can’t be productive there (I can). It’s not that I’m alone (my roommates are around). It’s just something about being in one location pretty much all day, even if I go out in the evening. I know this, but it’s hard to convince myself to go somewhere else because deciding to leave and packing up feels like a waste of time I could spend being productive. Gonna try out new ideas next week.
8.) Aside from the fact that I enjoy yoga immensely, not doing it for 3 weeks was a huge mistake because it’s not easy and now I feel like I have to build back up to where I was. I went to another class last night with one of my favorite teachers, and it kicked my butt (in the best way).
9.) And then I found a gift card for Chipotle and decided I needed it to replenish my salt. That’s totally a thing.

I love days at home!! Took me a long time to be able to relax, slow down and enjoy the calmness though!

I don’t know this exact one but it’s suuuuper similar to OPI Koala Beary.
I don’t mind staying home all day, but I need to at least take a walk outside for some fresh air…and I’ll need to leave within a few days! And I feel ya on missing yoga. I haven’t gone in over 2 weeks now because I had part of my toenail removed and wanted to give it plenty of time to heal before germ exposure 😉 Can’t wait for the first class back!
Getting outside definitely helps. Ick to the toenail! Hope it’s healing well!

I love staying home all day! I don’t get to do it very often, but when I do, I catch up on all sorts of things.
Catch-up days are so necessary!
Wait… Roti is the name of a Mediterranean restaurant? But it’s an Indian dish? Or do they use the word to mean something else? Haha
I love lots of cuisines but especially Italian and Mexican
The name confuses me too…? I tried looking it up but I have no idea!
