I’m sorry to dump photos on you and run, but I’m mostly going to dump photos on you and run. It’s after 9pm and I’ve been traveling since before 8am.
So. I’m going to give you a rundown of the day, and then show you pictures from today, pretty much in order. I promise that after the whole trip, I’ll give you a proper recap. This is so I don’t forget or overload you with 3,285 pictures at once.
I was miraculously ready (suitcases properly packed and everything) by 6:45 yesterday morning. I then got breakfast (European continental breakfast is way better than in the States – there) and packed up. Then, we were on the bus for a few hours before getting to Stratford-upon-Avon. It’s a cute little town with the house where Shakespeare was born. We were there for a little over an hour, before another two and a half hours on the tour bus.
We got to York and I ditched the tour group to go see York Minster, walk on the city walls for a half an hour, and go find chocolate. Apparently York is famous for chocolate. And then I got super lost and turned around and even though it should’ve taken me about 15 minutes to get back to the bus, it took me just over a half an hour. I was one minute late, and I was so nervous. But it was chocolate (and exercise?) and I was starving, so it was worth it.
Then there was a 45-minute ride to Harrogate, where we ate at a nice pub called The Pine Marten. My fish cakes had too much filling, but it was tasty enough. And now I’m at the hotel chatting with my mom and telling you about my day.
P.S. Chocolate was my main food group yesterday. Ate that whole pumpkin seed bar and a Cadbury DairyMilk and some of the painted chocolates. Ooops. Need a vegetable ASAP.
Your turn:
What was your main food group yesterday (or did you have a good balance)?
Have you ever gotten lost in a new city?

These pictures are SO BEAUTIUFL. Oh my gosh so beautiful. I was in Stratford when I was young. I remember some of it but would so love to go back. If I were going to get lost for any reason… I’d want it to be for chocolate. Keep up with the adventuring and taking amazing photos for us.

It was such a beautiful trip! Chocolate is a pretty good reason to get lost 😉
Great pics! You are definitely your mother’s daughter. The chocolate is not bad either.
The chocolate is always good!
Doors, bikes, signs, OH MY!!! And the chocolate is the icing on the cake. 🙂 You are doing well, my dear! Love you! <3
I learned my picture-taking from you!
Keep up with the photo dumping because then I can live vicariously through you 😉
It sounds like the tour group has been a bit of a hit and miss so far – so hopefully it gets better for you!
Yesterday my main food group was vegetables… because we just got back from Hawaii and I wanted ALL THE FRESH PRODUCE! 😛
I just cooked up a ton of vegetables today, so I won’t be lacking those for a while!
