Hey there! Again, time got away from me and it’s been far too long since I’ve posted anything at all. I had a nice, relaxing trip home for Thanksgiving, but now I’m back in the swing of school stuff, and so I’m a little all over the place. Hopefully this isn’t too rambly… but I have a lot of thoughts. Let’s dive right into my trip home then, eh?
Last Tuesday night, I packed up and headed to the airport to catch a late flight home. I landed around 1 am eastern time, and wasn’t in bed until around 2:30. That was the perfect primer for a lazy morning, a laid-back workout, and a lot of shopping with my mom on Wednesday. Thursday was the traditional (delicious) Thanksgiving feast at my grandparents’ house, followed by quick visits to some other family, all before crashing on the couch watching Parenthood while eating a perfect egg sandwich. The next day, my mom and I went Black Friday shopping, but we did it in a very relaxed way, since we didn’t have anything specific we absolutely needed to buy at a ridiculously discounted price. My dad and I went to a hockey game Friday night, which resulted in a 5-0 loss for the Blue Jackets, who should really be thinking about just wrapping up the season now. Yikes, are they terrible. On Saturday, I went to go get my computer checked out at the Apple store (it’s been having some problems with randomly turning off… not ideal any time, but especially not before finals), and my dad headed to the OSU-Michigan football game with my uncle while my mom and I hung out with my aunt and cousins. I also did a lot of baking. It was fabulous and relaxing.

On Sunday, my parents drove me back to school (which feels like home… which is a confusing topic for another post). On the way, I ate Chipotle for the third time in five days because I love it a lot.
And once I got there, unpacked the copious amounts of food I brought back with me (gotta get through finals somehow), and said goodbye to my parents, I shared my baked goods with my housemates. They were well-received 😉
Anyway, now let’s look ahead a little. Tomorrow is my last day of classes and I’m having a hard time grasping that fact. On Wednesday night, my house is having a secret Santa exchange. On Thursday night, my econ class is watching A Beautiful Mind and eating pizza because my professor got really excited at the prospect of bringing his kids to watch an economics-related movie with his students.

On Saturday, my RHs are making a massive pasta dinner so we can all carboload pre-finals. My first exam is next Tuesday, my second/last one is next Thursday, and I have a paper due by next Friday. After that, it’s winter break and my first quarter of college is over. I’ll have three weeks to mostly relax, and that is really weird to think about. I’m crazy nervous for the next couple weeks, but I’m really excited about break, as well.
Sorry for my absence and also for the quick post with so few pictures, but I will try to get better. Life is busy, but I want to make this little space more of a priority. All a work in progress.
What are you looking forward to?

Sounds like you had a great Thanksgiving break! I have a super-crazy week ahead, so pathetic as it sounds, I am looking forward to being done with it all…though I am going to try and enjoy each day anyway (even I feel like I’m being driven insane by the breakneck pace)…knowing every day is special in its own way, and sometime, I’ll be wishing I could go back to this time of my life. 🙂
Hope your finals go well!

That’s the right way to approach it – just enjoy as much as possible.
Thanks so much 🙂
