Happy Tuesday, everyone. How was your weekend? Mine was pretty relaxing, to be honest. I took a lot of time to just hang out with friends, eat Chipotle, eat ice cream, and watch Gilmore Girls, so the pictures aren’t all that interesting. Hopefully, I won’t regret the lack of productivity later…
Anyhow, over the last few months, I’ve developed the not-so-wonderful habit of checking my email first thing in the morning. Even before I’ve rolled out of bed, I’m “connected”. I’m sure some of you can relate, yes? But on Sunday (and yesterday), this wasn’t such a bad thing.
Why?
Because it reminded me that it’s my month, now! My birthday is in a couple of weeks, so I’ve started receiving all those lovely emails saying I get a free this or $10 off that, and who doesn’t love deals?
In all honesty, I don’t find my birthday that exciting; it happens every year. However, I am all for finding little reasons to celebrate and treat yourself, so I’m looking at it that way.
Seeing as my actual birthday falls on the Sunday before finals, I’m not exactly planning a huge party 😉 That said, I hope to enjoy the month and devote a little extra time to things I love, including baking, friends, and family.
And maybe I can treat myself to a massage while I’m home over spring break. 🙂
When is your birthday?
How do you (or do you) usually celebrate?
Jen aka mom says
Yay! The momth of Ellen has arrived!!!!!
or month 🙂 I was too excited!
😉
Happy (early) birthday!! Hope you have time to celebrate it *after* finals!!
I had an awesome Saturday, though my Sunday wasn’t all that swift…I managed to get some minor third-degree burns on my leg *and* slice open my palm in the same day. 😐 Being stupid. I didn’t realize the glass was cold, and boiling water + cold Mason jar = kitchen disaster. :O
My birthday is October 23rd. Usually, we have a special dinner picked out by the birthday person (sometimes the birthday person chooses to go out someplace :)) and of course, dessert/cake. I’m not a big cake fan…give me ice cream, cookies, pudding, or of course froyo (love it!!)/anything CHOCOLATE any day over cake. We usually have a family present-unwrapping and sometimes a movie. Mostly just chilling and hanging out together. 🙂
Ouch! I hope you’re doing okay!
I’m not huge on cake, either. I’ve had candy-centric birthdays, ice cream cakes, brownies, and cookies for my birthdays for the most part. That sounds a lot like my usual birthday! Celebrating in a relaxed way is kind of the best 🙂
