Hey there! I hope you’re having a lovely week so far. Thanks for all your support on my last post. Today I thought I’d lighten things up a little and do a survey I saw on Tina’s and Julie’s blogs recently. I always like reading surveys (because I’m nosy), and I think filling them out is pretty fun, too. Here it goes!
Lately I’ve Been…
Making: Money, I guess? That’s what happens at work, right?
Cooking: Uhhh not as much as I should? I’ve done a lot of baking recently, though!
Drinking: Water. In a giant tumbler with a straw. And also too much Diet Coke.
Reading: On the treadmill. See, when I need to stretch out after work, I go to the gym and read while walking on the treadmill (slowly and safely, I promise). Right now, I’m working on Bossypants by Tina Fey. It’s a light, funny read. I have a long list of other books I want to read, though, so I’d like to finish it soon!
Wanting: To see my high school friends! I’ve been home for nearly three weeks and haven’t seen them yet. We’re working on planning things, but I miss some of my people.
Looking: Forward to our family vacation to San Francisco at the end of August. We just started planning and I can’t wait! Any recommendations for things to do or places to eat would be very, very welcome! 🙂
Playing: Too much Candy Crush. I finished it again. Oops.
Wasting: Time. Sometimes by playing Candy Crush. Sometimes by just daydreaming. Sometimes by browsing the internet. I should probably get a handle on this before my summer disappears…
Wishing: It would stop raining. I really do enjoy the rain, but it’s been mostly rainy for the last week or so and I’d just like a little more sunshine.
Enjoying: Cool cloud texture. I definitely get this from my mom, but I love the way fluffy clouds look. It totally mesmerizes me.
Waiting: For a photography lesson from my very talented mother. Our photo walk got canceled last Friday because of rain.
Liking: Listening to EconTalk podcasts again. I listened to so many last summer and I really enjoyed them. I stopped over the school year because I was busy, but I just picked it back up. They cover a wide range of topics and they make me feel a little smarter!
Wondering: About the future, I guess? It’s a big, mysterious blob and I’m just trying to be okay with that. 🙂

Loving: Morning workouts. Relaxing evenings. Big snacks. My family. My group chats with my friends. Life.
Hoping: I’m not getting sick. My eyes are looking a little red lately… But I took some Airborne. I have no idea if it actually works, but I still take it whenever I suspect illness is infiltrating my system.
Needing: A nap or five.
Wearing: Very unseasonal clothes during the workday. One of the employees keeps the office I work at so chilly that clients walk in and comment on it. Lots of sweaters and cardigans. Not so many skirts and light blouses.
Following: NHL trades. The Blue Jackets just got what I’d say is the better end of a trade with the Blackhawks. I kind of love hockey.
Noticing: How much more energy I have after I spend a little time outside. Even a quick dog walk totally reenergizes me.
Knowing: That life is good.

Thinking: That my easily-scared puppy isn’t going to enjoy the festivities of this weekend. She’s not a fan of fireworks.Last year, she went 18 hours without going outside because she was too afraid. So, I think we’re planning on a low-key family night in on the Fourth of July to keep her calm – and I’m looking forward to it. 🙂
Feeling: More and more comfortable handling work without assistance from my trainer.
Bookmarking: All the recipes. These chicken kebabs are sounding particularly good right now. And also these ice cream sandwiches. And everything else on my Pinterest account.
Opening: Too many tabs on my internet browser. I am very well aware that I can re-find anything at any time, but I leave them open “just in case”. It’s completely irrational.
And that’s all for me today! Have a wonderful Wednesday!
Hmm. No specific questions, but I’d love to see your answers to some of the above prompts!

I’ve been loving Candy Crush as well. Sometimes it is just too addicting. You are do far! Oh my!! I hope your doggie feels comforted during the 4th. Give her lots of hugs for me 🙂

It really is addicting. And, yes, she’ll be receiving a lot of love this weekend 🙂 Thanks, Alison!
No shame in playing candy crush all day, totally been there and done that. I loved bossy pants, and comedian’s memoir is flat-out hilarious!
Yes! Loved Amy Poehler’s and Mindy Kaling’s, as well!
This cupcakes look scrumptious. I have heard great things about Bossypants and I am a huge fan of Tina Fey, so I need to look into that book.:)
Thanks, Julia! Definitely give Bossypants a try. I think it takes a lot of talent for humor to translate well into writing, but Tina Fey absolutely pulls it off.
So weird! You are like the third or fourth person I follow (I follow Julie too!) to do this survey recently! I actually considered doing it myself, but it seemed like a lot of questions, and I was too busy. Plus, I didn’t know exactly how it worked. 😀 =S
I used to read on the treadmill, too! I was just talking about it with my brother last week, so it was kind of funny that you mentioned it now!
I hope the fourth goes well for your dog this year! One of our dogs is deaf, and my dog was actively socialized towards fireworks when we were raising him to be a Guide Dog, so they are both fine. The real question mark for us is my brother’s new Papillion/Chihuahua mix. She is pretty fearful as a general rule, and we have no idea how she is going to do!
Five naps sounds lovely. Oh, and in my book, baking>cooking. 😉
It was a lot of questions for sure! I got stuck a few times 😛
Aw I hope your new dog handles the noise and excitement okay!
I wish real life had “nap time” 😀 And I think I agree… baking yields some pretty great results 😉
I love my tumbler with a straw, too. Having a straw helps me drink so much more water! And I love the feeling of closing a bunch of browser tabs when I finish an assignemt for school 🙂
I’m the same way with straws. No idea why, but they make it seem so much easier to down a lot of water.
YES! After my econ final, I closed 7 tabs and it was the best 🙂
