Happy Christmas Eve eve! This week seems to have flown by, and I’m looking forward to a busy weekend of family and relaxation. As usual, I want to kick a lovely weekend off by taking a look at some of our favorites from the week. Ready? Let’s do it.
The Crown
I mentioned it earlier, but this show is so good that my mom and I binge-watched the 10 episodes in three sittings. It centers on the early reign of Queen Elizabeth II, and even though it deals with some heavier stuff, it’s just fun. You get to imagine what it’s like to actually become the Queen of England, with all the history and responsibility that comes with it.
Benefit Brow Bar
Last Friday, when my mom and I went out for a little bit of final Christmas shopping, I decided to stop at the Benefit Brow Bar because I wanted someone to clean up my eyebrows and forgot to ask my hairstylist to do them. A very nice guy “mapped” my eyebrows and gave me a magical pencil and highlighter so I can have eyebrows as good as his. At the risk of sounding vain, just like when I have my nails done, having my eyebrows done, though more subtle, makes me feel like I have my life together.
Family hockey night
Growing up, hockey was always a thing my dad and I shared, but since I’ve gone off to college, my mom has become a bit of a fan, too. We all went to a game together last night and it was lots of fun. Also, a great way to relieve the stress of the holidays.
And, guys, it was THE BEST. Like I said yesterday, the Blue Jackets are actually a good team this year, and they showed it last night. Between scoring 3 goals in a span of 51 seconds, scoring a total of 7 goals, Scott Hartnell scoring a hat trick, a win, and an electric atmosphere, it was awesome.
Artisan Tropic Plantain Strips
Fun fact: I cannot find fresh plantains in the stores I regularly shop at. Am I looking in the wrong place? Anyway, I love plantains and think they make awesome chips. The other day, I found these at Whole Foods and I am obsessed. The sea salt ones have three ingredients and are crispy, crunchy awesomeness. I bought more to demolish hoard eat with dips at our Christmas celebrations.
Pippa + Peanut butter

This ridiculousness made me laugh yesterday. My mom was feeding Pippa peanut butter while my dad tried to brush her tail. This is the dog who wouldn’t touch peanut butter when we got her. And now she can’t get enough.
That’s all for me for the week. Wherever you are, whatever you’re doing, I hope you have a wonderful weekend. The merriest of Christmases to all who celebrate, and I’ll talk to you next week!
Loving lately: a successful @BlueJacketsNHL team and a puppy with peanut butter. #SweatPink #cbj Share on XYour turn:
Where do I find plantains?
What are you loving this week?

Find plantains with the bananas at WFM (or check with the obscure fruits like coconuts).
The Crown was amazing–I watched it in 24 hours. I want more. And I want their tiaras. LOVELOVELOVE you my dear. Thank you for checking in on me yesterday! Happy Christmas!

That’s where I look! All I’ve seen is red bananas… which are not the same. I’ll persist 😛
I want the tiaras and the dresses and for real people to dress like them.
I feel you on not being able to find plantains. They are impossible to find in Sydney!
Pippa is tooooo cute! Our dogs love PB too!
I hope you have the most amazing Christmas, sweet girl!
Hope your Christmas was wonderful! Happy New Year, Kristy!
all of our dogs love PB except for our big male husky. 🙂 And we can usually find plantains at Sprouts. Do you have those?
Pippa used to turn up her nose at PB and now she can’t get enough. I guess dogs’ tastes change, too!
We don’t have Sprouts, unfortunately! I’ll keep on looking anyhow 😛
Is Pippa adorable or what?! My dog likes peanut butter, but her real love is popcorn–she can’t get enough of it! Merry (belated) Christmas to you and your family, Ellen! 🙂
Popcorn? That’s so random and adorable! Happy New Year, Claire!
