Happy Friday! What’s on your agenda for the weekend? My mom and I are shopping today and baking tomorrow, I’m going to a volleyball game tomorrow night, I have my friends’ annual Secret Santa on Sunday, and other than that, my weekenyd is pretty open. I was up crazy-late last night, so I’m going to keep it short and sweet today. But I couldn’t end the week without telling you all about my favorites from it, especially since I left ya hanging last week. (#finals) Ready? Let’s do it.
Sitting by the fireplace
It has gotten bitterly cold since I’ve been home. I truly forgot it could be this cold, especially since last winter wasn’t that bad at all. It’s awful and I want it to stop. However, I love that being home means I can sit way too close to the fireplace to warm up. Bonus: my dog usually curls up right beside me.
Cleveland Kraut
I’m a weirdo who loves sauerkraut, and I (obviously) left mine at school. When I was at the grocery store on Tuesday, I found this stuff and it’s amazing. I’m currently in love with the Beet Red.
NCAA DI Women’s College Volleyball Tournament
Have I ever told you that all of my cousins are athletic? From soccer to gymnastics to volleyball, they all participate in some (or multiple) sporty endeavors and are reasonably good at them. This was is so not me. I’m a little envious of their skillz. Anyway, my cousin, Emilee, plays varsity volleyball for her high school, so our birthday/Christmas present to her was going to see the NCAA Women’s Volleyball Tournament, since it ends at Nationwide Arena. That’s why I was out so late last night. But it was lots of fun to hang out with Emilee, my aunt, and my parents – and watch good games. We’re headed back to the finals tomorrow.
30 Minute Spicy Ancho Turkey Chili
Cold days call for chili, and since there are a lot of those right now, chili happened last night. I loosely followed this recipe from Pinch of Yum, and it was excellent. I highly recommend it!
Good Day Chocolates
I mentioned these a while ago, and I’ve since been chatting with the company about how to bring you guys some Good Day. So, they sent me samples of all five of their varieties: Energy, Sleep, Calm, Vitamin D3, and Turmeric. Verdict: they’re all delicious chocolate. I feel significant effects from Sleep and Calm, but given that the founder of Good Day is a double board certified medical doctor and surgeon, I believe that the others have their own, more subtle effects. Oh, and the company gives back by donating funds to help repair kids’ cleft lips and palates in developing countries. Pretty cool stuff.
Want some of your own, you say? Check out my Instagram this afternoon and enter to win a month’s supply of a combination of all the fabulous varieties.
Your turn:
Were you an athletic kid? Lol no.
Which Good Day Chocolate do you need most? Calm. Always calm.
What are you loving this week?

OOH WOW that chocolate looks so good; I’ve never seen it before; where did you find it initially? 🙂
It’s awesome! Whole Foods was giving out free samples one day and I bought tons then! I usually find them there by the supplements or the checkout!
I always love adding more turmeric to my life! And I’m loving the fact that I’m flying home tomorrow! Wish me luck with this crazy east coast weather…
The weather has been crazy here! Congrats on being done with undergrad, Casey!!!
Chocolate with extra benefits?! They need to bring GDC to Australia!
I feel like I’d need the energy one the most but calm sounds perfect for a nighttime snack!
I love having a few calm ones before bed!
