Hey hi hello! Happy Friday! How was your week? Aside from my cold (which I think is getting better), mine was actually pretty nice, and my workload for the weekend looks lighter than usual. And next week is a short week because of Thanksgiving! Life is good. With that established, let’s take a look at some of the things that made this past week particularly lovely.
- Being done with Marx
This is slightly pathetic, but my class has been reading Marx for Self, Culture, and Society for too long. As of Wednesday, we are done with him (well, until writing a final paper, I imagine…). But I’m going to focus on the positive. We have moved on, and Max Weber‘s work is much more digestible than Marx’s manuscripts.
- The last econ problem sets of the quarter
More school-related things! Anyway, the last two homework assignments for my econ class are due on Monday, which means a few lovely things. First, no homework over Thanksgiving. Second, no more new material to learn for the final. Third, nearly two full weeks to study for the final.
- Halls cough drops
First, these don’t taste terrible, and usually I hate any cough drops with menthol. Second, the fact that they’re sugar free makes me somehow feel less awful about using them to fall asleep (right after brushing my teeth). Third, the wrappers are freaking motivational. I love them a lot.
- Facetiming my parents
Last night I finished my homework in pretty good time and felt like chatting with my parents for a bit. I could just call, but I decided to Facetime them and it was so nice. They made fun of my facial expressions and I got to see my puppy, who had no idea what was going on. Fun stuff!
- Wildfox sweatshirts
I have this one and this one. They are huge and warm and comfy (so basically, they’re super easy and all I want to wear), but they’re cute and funny, so I get compliments every single time I wear them. Success. 🙂
And that’s all for me this week! Have a fabulous weekend, and I’ll talk to you Monday!
Do you have a go-to outfit?
What are you loving this week?

Haha, those sweaters are very cute!
Omg…problem sets….they were the worst 😛 We didn’t even get a “grade” on them, but had to hand in 3 or the 5 or so we got to get credit per quarter.

Thanks! For us psets are the homework, so at least we get a relatively small grade for them. Granted, the class average is pretty high on them so they don’t help too much, but they don’t hurt 🙂 And they make good practice for the exams!
I love Halls cough drops! They also make super delicious vitamin c ones that I love when I feel something coming or someone I’m around a lot is sick!
I have some of those, too! I have no idea if they really “work” but I definitely use them.
I love those little pep talks!! SO fun! 🙂 Hope that you have an awesome weekend!
Thanks, Cailee! You, too!
I love the ordering pizza one!!! Too funny…I should have one like that! ? Super weird coincidence about the Halls: we usually use Ricola, but my aunt has had a really bad cough for the last month or so and used about every cough drop brand on the planet, and she said Halls is the best. Now I think I need to try them!
My go-to outfit is a t-shirt and a favorite, comfortable skirt. Ah, actually that’s more of my go-to summer outfit…yet another reason why summer is my fav! For winter, I’d just add more additional layers (a long-sleeve t-shirt, leggings, UGG boots, hoodie…) and bundle up.
Have a fantastic Thanksgiving, Ellen! Hope you enjoy your (albeit possibly rather short) break home!!
I’ve always used Halls and love ’em 🙂
