Happy Friday! Are you ready for the weekend? I am! I actually think I have been since about Tuesday, which means that unlike last week, this week has moved pretty slowly. But it’s just about over now, and I think it’s just as (if not more) important to look back on our favorite things from a not-as-great week as from a fabulous one. Let’s get to it, shall we?
- The prettiest fall days ever
Part of me wishes I’d gotten a picture of this, but honestly, I’m just glad I got to see it. While walking back from my econ discussion on Monday evening, the wind picked up a little and made all these golden leaves swirl around in the air on the quad. It was during the early part of the sunset, so there were reds and oranges in the sky and swirling around in the air and it was stunning.
And the above is what everything here looks like daily. It’s wonderful, and it’s not even cold yet.
- Support from… everyone
Okay, I promise that this is the last reference to the fact that I didn’t love this week. What I did love was the love and support I got from my housemates, other friends at school and at home, my roommates, and animals (we have a couple dogs and cats that live with us). People don’t have to help you feel better and they can often make you feel worse, but I’m so grateful for all the wonderful ones I’m surrounded with.
- A surprise care package
I know I mentioned it yesterday, but I’m mentioning it again now. Because sometimes life necessitates a cookie or some candy and some cute decorations, and my aunt recognizes that, and that makes me happy. ❤️
- My parents visiting
I’m fortunately not too swamped with work this weekend, so I get to hang out with my parents around here for a couple days. My dad and I are going to a hockey game on Saturday night with one of his college friends who lives in the area, and I’m sure there will be lots of delicious food consumed, shopping, and relaxation. I’m excited! 🙂
I’ve been following it for a while, but I love it. It’s a nice little daily dose of happy thoughts right in my Instagram feed.

I’m not one to swoon over the fall (dieing leaves), but they are really pretty this year! As I was out driving the other day…it was simply stunning looking out the windows!
I love fall foliage! (Though I admit it’s a little depressing when it all disappears 😛 )

I never cease to be amazed at your pictures from campus! They are gorgeous and it always makes me think, "It looks like she lives on castle grounds in olden times, or in England or something!" And with the fall colors…stunning!
I've been having a terrific time with my cousins this week! Actually, it's mostly terrific…my cousin's wife is gone to a conference (which is why we are here: to help take care of the kiddos), so we're all missing her awfully. But I'm having a blast with the rest of them, and it's been like a week of crazy-town heaven, if that makes sense. 😛 Playing at the park, playing make-believe with my 3-year-old cousin, who is Anna from Frozen (which makes me Elsa 😉 ), playing dollhouse with her family of pigs, holding and cuddling and comforting a sweet 6-month-old boy, making dinners in the spare moments, and just generally getting to play at being a mom (my dream job)…those are some of my favorite things this week. But honestly, my people are my absolute favorites! <3
