Happy Friday! Did you have a good week? Are you ready for the weekend? I’m looking at homework, blog work, errands, apple-picking, and hopefully some baking. Maybe all that’s a little ambitious, but we shall see. Anyway, let’s kick off the weekend on a positive note by looking back at some of our favorite little things from the past week.
- These bowls
When I was shopping for dishes for the apartment, I came across these adorable bowls. They were really cheap and they make me happy, so I got them. I love using them for everything from snacking on trail mix and cereal to evening bowls of ice cream. And they make me smile every time.
- Shake day
This is probably a repeat, and I don’t particularly care. While this has been a pretty great week overall, it hasn’t been without its stressful moments hours days. But I took a break on Wednesday and met up with some housemates and enjoyed milkshakes on a breezy, sunny day. Also, I read The Wealth of Nations outside for a bit.
My old tan boots were starting to fall apart, and I knew I wanted to find something like these before I came back to school. With the temperatures starting to drop, I broke them out this week, and I really kind of love them. They’re versatile and comfortable and while I know they won’t last for my entire life, they’re pretty durable.
I like pretty things and I’m a little obsessively organized. These go with both of those things! I’ve been using them for to-do lists, labeling my notes, journaling, and filling out my planner. I feel slightly crazy for carrying a pack of 16 pen-markers with me but I love them. The end.
- Morning walks
Three days a week, my classes don’t start until 10:30, which means I’m awake for several hours before class. I often work out and I always eat breakfast, clean up and get organized for the day, and usually still have some time to take a walk before class. I’ve been listening to a mix of audiobooks and podcasts, and it’s a nice time to unwind and take my mind off life for a bit. It’s a great way to start the day.
And that’s all for me for now! I hope you have a fabulous weekend. Talk to you next week!
What’s making you happy this week?
Any plans for the weekend?

Those bowls are adorable! I love that you go for walks before class. I always tried to do the same thing and it put me in such a better mood in the mornings!

Thank you! It really does make me feel like I’m starting the day better!
Those bowls…..beautiful!!!!! O the food photography 😛
And I love the shoes! I can never find a good pair of boots that fit and aren’t too wide!
I thought of that when I got them… I could see myself becoming rather a collector of cute dishes 😛
Thanks! I have really narrow feet (especially ankles) and these worked out alright for me. But shoe shopping in general is pretty rough…
Cute boots! Shoes are definitely my downfall… I could own way more than I need and can afford money and space-wise! 😀
Plans for the weekend aren’t super exciting, weeding, putting lawn watering equipment into storage for the winter, and working on replacing the built in microwave in the kitchen. We have to screw a board onto the wall because the new one is slightly different then the old one, so we can’t just replace it. So its a multi-step process, and we are doing the prep work this weekend so that hopefully next weekend we can finish the job!
Hope you have an awesome weekend!
Thanks! I love shoes, but I try to limit myself to a few specific ones/types because I know having 29349058 pairs isn’t exactly necessary…
Hope your kitchen project went well and you’ve had a lovely weekend!
Doing a touch of yard work this weekend, and maybe family movie night? I know I kind of mention that a lot, but everyone knows that weekend’s are for chillaxing, and one of our family’s favorite ways to relax is to watch a movie together! 🙂
Some things that have made me happy this week…
1) Listening to one of my favorite audiobook series, “100 Cupboards”, by N. D. Wilson. My first time listening to it, I was kind of confused, in a good way, but I love it and understand it better everytime I read it. 😉
2) A new waterproof speaker we can use in the shower. It makes shower jams or listening to a lecture/podcast TONS easier and more fun!
3) The best sort of birthday month planned out: getting to see/visit lots of family, especially some that I don’t see often! I am so pumped, even though some of the trips involve work. It doesn’t seem very much like work when I’m hanging out with some of my favorite peeps!!! <3
Hope your weekend's a great one!
1.) I’m just finishing a (very lighthearted) book called “Her Royal Spyness”! Audiobooks are the best.
2.) That. Sounds. Awesome.
3.) Glad you have a good month ahead of you! Sounds fun 🙂
Hope you’ve had a great weekend!
I love those boots! And the bowls are adorable. Bright and colorful dishes are where it’s at!
Thanks! And yes! I totally love adorable dishes 🙂
