Happy Friday! How was your week? I’ve started to settle into a routine, so I’d call it a decent one on my end. Do you have exciting weekend plans? I’m going to spend some time in the kitchen, go see Finding Dory, and head to a family reunion. Oh, and maybe finish Orange is the New Black and start a new puzzle. But before we head into this lovely weekend, let’s look back at some of our favorite things from the week. Sound good? Okay!
An awesome workout

Julie posts tons of awesome workouts, so I look to her blog for inspiration a lot. Last weekend, I did the above circuit workout and loved it. It made me sore all over in the best way. Such a great way to start the day – and the weekend.
Stormy nights
I’ve been sleeping okay lately, but not quite enough. Some of that is my own fault and I should go to bed earlier, but some of it is just the fact that I wake up ridiculously early. I also usually wake up once in the middle of the night and need to stretch out a little before going back to sleep. The exception? Stormy nights. Wednesday night, we had the kind of severe weather that sends an obnoxious alarm to your phone to alert you to take cover, and I didn’t wake up once. Could I have still used more sleep? Of course. But I’ll take good sleep whenever I can get it. Hopefully, those storm alerts are never too serious, or I might be in trouble.
Prime Music
One of the guys I work with informed me on my first day that Spotify and Pandora don’t work on our computers. Well, that’s true and it’s not really fun because I work in a department where the vast majority of people have headphones on all day. I want music. Enter: Prime Music! For some reason, Amazon is fully accessible at work, so Prime Music is. I love it. There’s a lot of variety and I don’t have to create my own playlists or drain my phone battery. I just click and listen to whatever sounds good at the time.
Rides to work
I can totally understand why you wouldn’t want to ride to work with their parents. One of the interns who sits near me rides to work with parents who bug him about everything from why he hasn’t uploaded his picture to his work email to why he isn’t on the instant messenger all the time. That doesn’t sound fun.
But my rides to and from work with my dad are fun and we can talk about work and life and podcasts. And I can doze a little on the short ride home. And it saves me from dealing with traffic and parking money. 😉
Delicious dinners
Growing up, my family usually ate dinner around 6:30pm. When I’m at school, I usually eat close to 7:00pm. Since I’ve been working from 8:00am to just about 6:00pm and getting home with my dad around 6:20, if I want to cook, dinner is going to happen a bit after 7:00. I obviously love to cook, so I’m super grateful that my parents agreed to eat some later dinners this summer in order to allow me to continue to do so. My mom even offered to do some of the prep work. 🙂

That was a long introduction to my point about having some seriously delicious dinners this week. I’ve been trying out new-to-me recipes and they’ve all been awesome (and Paleo). On the menu? Lindsay’s Easy Jalapeno Shrimp Veggie Bake, Marinated Steak & Pineapple Kabobs from The Paleo Kitchen, Krista’s Cilantro Lime Chicken with Avocado Salsa, and Lee’s Thai Chicken Lettuce Wraps. We’ve been eating well this week. 😉
And that’s all for me today. I’ll talk to you next week – have a lovely weekend!
Do you like storms?
What’s the best thing you’ve eaten this week?
What are you loving lately?

I’m no connoisseur of food pics, but I love the picture of the lettuce wraps. Very colorful and pretty. And I’m enjoying having a companion for my commute, as well.
I can’t take credit for the pic – it’s Lee’s! But it is certainly gorgeous 🙂
Oops. Not your pic. Still pretty, though.
Must try that workout. It looks like a GOOD one! Have a great weekend, my sweet!
It’s excellent! And you as well 🙂
I actually DO love severe storms…but if it’s just kinda drizzle and rain NO! But when it all out just storms, those can be kinda comforting because you KNOW you can be “lazy” and not doing anything productive 😛 Hahahaha!
Yes! I’m not a fan of drizzle. Pouring rain? Absolutely.
I’m the same as you–I always sleep through storms and hope that it doesn’t get me into trouble one day 😛 That workout looks killer!
The best thing I’ve eaten this week is fresh strawberries from the farmer’s market! I can’t get enough of them.
Nothing like fresh strawberries! Enjoy 😀
I keep learning about all of the cool stuff i can do with prime since I’ve only had it since December. I’m very recently obsessed with Prime Video, and now I’m off to check out the music! Thanks, Ellen!! Have a great weekend!
I discovered the magic of Prime Video over spring break! I seriously think Prime is worth it just for the shipping convenience, but all the extra perks are awesome! Thanks, Morgan 🙂 I hope you’re having a fabulous weekend.
I like rain storms ONLY if I have no where to be (of course that rarely happens and I’m forced to venture outside). All of those dinners sound fabulous! Love chicken lettuce wraps.
So true – I don’t want it to be raining if I have to go out in it 😛
Oh no no no I hate storms! We had thunder and lightening the other day and all of my flatmates were out. It felt like it was so close and i got really scared and ended up huddled under my desk until the storm passed.
My dad drove me to school everyday and we had such a great time listening to the radio, singing and chatting. I miss those days!
Gotta love that special time with your dad ❤️
I actually find that I sleep better when it’s stormy… kind of like those white noise machines that play rainy sounds, haha!
I am so glad you’re getting to spend so much quality time with your parents! I’m like you and love spending time with mine!
Storms are nature’s white noise machines 🙂
