HI. Happy Friday! It’s been a great week, honestly, so I’m going to dive right in and tell you about some of my favorite parts. Aaand I’d love it if you’d play along and catch me up on your lives in the comments!
- Finishing second year
I’m officially done, and it feels so great. Technically, I’ve been done since 10pm on Tuesday, and the rest of the week has been full of packing and unpacking and getting re-settled in at home. A more thorough reflection on the year will be up sometime next week!

Also, in the moving process I realized how much stuff have, so I’m working on getting rid of some of that.
Ever since Snapchat became a “thing”, some of my friend have tried to get me to get one. So, that’s what, at least two years? Well, I decided to cave right after finals. I still have almost no idea what I’m doing, but it’s fun! If you want to see more pictures of my dog, my food, and my life, my username is elleneveryday. Come follow along!
- Lunch with bloggers
Last week I mentioned the Food Entrepreneur Summit (affiliate link) hosted by Nicole. I’m still catching up on all the videos, but it was such a fun experience and I’ve learned so much! I also got to meet a couple of the lovely ladies who also participated in the summit before I left Chicago.

We all had other commitments, so it was a quick 30-minute lunch absolutely filled with fun and informative conversation. They’re so sweet, and I’m glad we were able to throw together a meet-up. I hope we get to do it again sometime!
- An afternoon with friends
Yesterday, I got to hang out with my high school friends and it was lovely. We ate 290853 tortilla chips with black bean queso and tacos the size of little burritos from Condado Tacos before wandering around German Village, hoping we’d run into our favorite teacher, and browsing a bookstore with a seriously impressive inventory.
We also finally got some updated pictures together, since we still use the ones from senior prom regularly.
And then we crashed for a little while while watching Fruitvale Station and Cupcake Wars. What a day. ☺️
- Home
I’m home! I get to cook dinner for multiple people and go grocery shopping in my own car and walk my dog. Life is good.
What are you loving this week?
What’s on your agenda this weekend?

I am, too, and I’m sad that I was so scrambled at the end of the year I didn’t see you again before I left. I wanna see you in the fall when I come back!
High five for finishing!! Can you believe we are half was through now :O
It’s madness!! Have a lovely weekend, Rebecca!
HUGE congrats for finishing up strong!! So cool you got to get lunch with some fellow bloggers. Hope you have a nice weekend Ellen!
Thanks so much, Lyss! I hope you have a great weekend, too!
I know I already said it, but congrats on being done and home! Also, I totally forgot you lived in Columbus and I was like NO WAY when I saw the picture of you and your friends in front of the Book Loft. I’m originally from Columbus (well, Dublin) and I used to go there all the time when I was little!
This weekend I’m going to the farmer’s market with my dad and shopping with my mom. Two things I haven’t gotten to do in ages! 😀 I hope you have a lovely weekend!
Ahhh I didn’t realize you were from around here. Small world 😉 That sounds like such a fun weekend! Enjoy – and congrats on being done for now to you, too!
Yay for being halfway done!! It must feel so good to be back home! (I lived very close to my college, so my first year I went home often and after that I commuted. So I never got that missing home feeling, haha!)
Thanks, Morgan! Sometimes I definitely think that living closer would be nice 🙂
I actually just got back from a mini Disneyland vacation with the family, so that was really fun! Now, I’m just looking forward to a weekend full of sleep and chilling! 🙂
I LOVE DISNEY. ❤️ Enjoy your relaxing weekend, Casey!
THAT BOOKSHOP. I would go there to procrastinate during work breaks at Stauffs! Hope your enjoying time back home!
It was my first time there and I can’t believe I didn’t know about it before!
I’m loving the little walks or runs I’ve been going on. It feels so nice to get outside and move around. This weekend is gonna be study, study study. Oh the joy.
I hope you have a lovely weekend.
ENJOY those walks/runs. Any time you can take to clear your mind in this busy time is wonderful. I hope your studying has been successful!
Hooray! Congrats on finishing your second year, girly!
