Hello and happy Friday! I hope the week has treated you well. It’s been a pretty good one over here, but I might have a little bit of summer fever. As in, as much as I love it all, I’m about ready for a break from all this school stuff for a while. 😉 Fortunately, I do only have about a week and a half left, including finals! It’s the home stretch and it’s crazy, so let’s end the week with some happy thoughts and talk about some of the good things in life.
- Professors who let you take early exams
My finals schedule technically works out so I would take all four of my finals within 24 hours of each other. Ouch. Kindly, two of my professors are offering early/senior exams next week, so I get the chance to spread out my exams a little more. Two next week and two the following week sounds so much more pleasant.
- L’anza Healing Strength Silk Serum
It’s been so humid here this week. My hair does not cooperate with me in humidity, but this stuff makes it a little more manageable. And it smells good. 🙂
- Cinnamon Life cereal
We’ve already established I eat a ton of cereal. This is my latest box, and while I’ve had it before, it had been a while before last night. It’s sweet (but not too sweet), cinnamon-y, crunchy, and (obviously) addictive. Love.
- The Limited Perfect Tee
I really do like the idea of being fashionable and fancy and wearing new interesting things. Occasionally, I actually do it. Pretty often, I just throw on one of these (I have a somewhat embarrassing 7 different colors) and some easy jewelry and jeans. It’s my own “uniform”. And, hey, they’re flattering and super comfy.
- Sea salt dark chocolate almonds
So, you’ve got the chocolate flavor. And the slight saltiness. And the incredible almond crunchy nuttiness. What could be wrong? Also, I got this pretty much perfect product at (you guessed it) Target, a pretty much perfect place.
Have a fantastic weekend, everyone!
Do you mix up your outfits a lot or have your own “uniform”?
What’s your favorite (flavored) nut or nut butter?
What are you loving this week?

ahhhh I remember finals week and it is the worst when they are all bunched together – I’m glad you were able to change them! Have a great weekend and thanks for linking up!

sea salt dark chocolate almonds sound SO GOOOD
They absolutely are! The jar is too little 😉
My favorite nut butter has to be between almond and sunflower seed. But in my book, they are all good. Good luck on all of your finals!
Oooh I’ve never had sunflower seed butter! Definitely on my to-try list! Thanks, Alison!
I mostly have my own – ahem – style? (if you can call it that…), and I like finding new pairings in my wardrobe. But I have a few outfits that are my favorites, and when I can’t figure out what to wear, I grab one of those. And no shame in t-shirts! I have quite a few and they are like good friends…they never fail! 🙂
I’m more of a purest when it comes to nuts/nut butters. But any nut combined with chocolate sounds pretty good to me! I also do love Blue Diamond almonds, though, and have always wanted to try their chocolate one…I used to love their cinnamon sugar one, though I haven’t had it in a while.
Loving this week…
1) Several inspirational articles/books that came at just the right time. It is so encouraging to read someone who is talking about how they went through the exact same thing you are, and when they talk about whatever issue it is they’re facing, it’s almost like you could have written it. 😉
2) The freedom of running just because I want to. I don’t have to feel tied to a certain time or a certain distance; it was pretty nice to run for however long I wanted and then be done. I loved the wind, I loved my new running shoes and I loved the endorphins! 🙂
3) Time to read!!! It seems I rarely find time to read, one of my favorite activities, but I’ve been able to get a lot done this week (which feels good in and of itself, because some of those pesky jobs have been sitting on my to-do list for-EVER and it seemed like I’d never get them done!). I’ve even been able to finish a book I’ve been wanting to for awhile. Yay!
4) Seeing old friends. We were surprised this week to accidently run into friends at the grocery store. We haven’t seen them in forever, and, while we couldn’t spend as much time as I would’ve liked catching up, it was so nice to see their dear faces and talk a bit. It really made my week!
5) Getting an unexpected, accidental call from my cousins’ daughter. Talk about making my week!! I’d been missing my extended fam extra-much the night before, and was just generally feeling down. Then my cousins’ two-year-old got ahold of her daddy’s phone and unintentionally dialed me. When we figured it out, the whole thing just made me laugh outright! Plus, hearing her prattle on to me on the other end of the line, talking non-stop, was pretty much the best! 😉
I LOVE plain nut butters, too, and I’m super excited for the summer when I’ll have better access to them! I’ve mostly been using squeeze packs of whatever I can find for convenience. But yeah, I love all of ’em 😉
1.) I totally agree. I feel like I always stumble across quotes and articles exactly when I need to read them.
2.) Running is so fun when there’s no pressure – so we shouldn’t put any pressure on it 😀
3.) Summer goals right there. I love reading… but it totally isn’t a priority during school.
4.) Unexpectedly running into people from your past is so fun! It’s always fun to take a little trip down memory lane.
5.) Awww. I love that your little relatives talk on the phone. Mine always say they want to and then get overwhelmed and give the phone to an adult haha. So cute!
You are so close to being done for the year! Finish strong sweet Ellen! I love Life cereal. Love love love love love. I think I may go have some tonight now because simply reading about it has initiated a craving.
Have a great weekend, girly!
Thanks, Julia! Go get yourself some cereal 😉
Hope you have a great weekend, as well!
Hey Ellen,
Good luck with your finals, I sure do know the dreadful feeling lol.
Im loving the fact that summer is almost here because I would like to do some traveling and enjoy being young for a change lol. Have a great week!
Thanks, Kristal! Finals are over now and it’s awesome 😀
I hope you get to do some traveling! Traveling is so fun and enriching.
I am a cereal freak. A giant bowl is one of my favorite dinners…oops haha. Cinnamon life really is the best!

I love to cook and all, but sometimes a giant bowl of cereal really is the most satisfying dinner. 🙂
