Happy Friday! I hope it was a lovely week and I hope you have a nice weekend planned. It’s a long weekend for me, thanks to Memorial Day, so I’ll still have two days of no work classes to enjoy after I fly back to Chicago tomorrow night. Anyway, it’s been a pretty good, if slightly crazy week on my end. Let’s end on a good note and talk about some little things I’m loving lately.
- No more midterms (!)
Granted, this means finals are only about a week and a half to two weeks away. I guess it might not seem like a good thing then, but the calm before the storm is still calm. It’s been nice.
- Wristlets
I’m an over-packer, so I tend to carry giant purses and not think a lot of it. Really, though, little wristlets are so much more convenient. As long as it can fit my phone, money, and IDs, that’s really all I need. These are adorable and perfect and I’m so happy I stumbled upon them. (Thanks, Target!)
- Jolly Ranchers and Special Dark Mini Reese’s
Not together, I promise. Still, these have been my favorite candies this week, and I’ve been craving sugar like crazy. I could easily eat a whole bag of Reese’s, so the Jolly Ranchers are good for slowing me down. 😉
- Trader Joe’s Soft & Juicy Mandarins
I love clementines and had never seen dried oranges before. These are incredibly soft and flavorful, and they make a really good substitute for candy when you’ve mayyyybe had too much. But I wouldn’t know anything about that.
- Yasso bars
I love ice cream. I love Greek yogurt. I love every Yasso flavor I’ve tried. The cookie dough is the newest one to me and I love it. My other favorites are the sea salt caramel and peanut butter cup.
And that’s all for me this week. I hope you have a lovely weekend!
What’s in your purse/bookbag?
What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?
What have you been loving this week?

I love wristlets- so easy to carry!

Yes! They’re so very convenient 🙂
I am the same way.. I carry huge bags although wristlets are so handy! When I would go to school I would always have a wristlet so I didn’t have to lug a big heavy bag. I have never tried Yasso bars, but they look great! I’m a vanilla girl at heart, although I do love cookies n’ cream. 🙂
Vanilla (done well) is pretty amazing in its simplicity! And cookies ‘n’ cream is also pretty classic. I love ’em both!
I may have to go to Target this weekend– those wristlets are so cute! I usually carry big purses too, but those look much more handy!
Those Yasso frozen yogurt bars look really good! Chocolate chip cookie dough is one of my top ice cream flavors, probably right after rocky road. 🙂
They’re super convenient! Do it! (I’m an enabler, sorry 😉 )
Cookie dough is such a reliable flavor, and deeeelicious. I’ve never had rocky road, but I might just have to give it a try!
Haha, sorry about that! 😛
Wait, what is you’re school schedule? When are you done for summer?
I’m on the quarter system! I started fall quarter at the very end of September and spring quarter finals end June 12.
I’m such an overpacker too! And I’ll always take an excuse to stop by Target! 🙂 You are killing me with those mandarins. Oh what I would do for a Trader Joes!
It’s easy to find excuses for Target trips 😀
Those Yasso bars look amazing! Where did you find them?
I got mine at Target! I’ve seen them at Kroger, Giant Eagle, and a lot of other stores, as well, though!
I usually tend to carry way too much in my purse (I am an over-packe evenr just to run errands, lol). But standard in my purse are the usuals, wallet, phone, gum, etc. but also my journal for wait times, ear phones for when I need musi) and a stash of emergency hair things.
Yum! That Greek yogurt bar sounds the best! Now I want to try it. 🙂 I love quality chocolate ice cream with any additional chocolate add-ins…also if there is peanut butter involved (that doesn’t taste fake, because I’m picky about my pb 😛 with the chocolate,, it would definitely be a favorite. But, ironically, a standard flavor that almost never steers me wrong is cookie dough, especially with chocolate ice cream ’cause chocolate is *always* better, IMO
Favorites! Sort of uninteresting this week. 😐
1) A healthy, uninjured body. I know several people who right now are injured or are somehow limited in what they can do because of their physical condition, and I had an aha moment the other day that I am SO blessed to be standing here in this moment, able to walk, eat, shop where I choose…actually, able to do practically anything I want!
2) New music. I adore music, and new songs are sometimes the perfect pick-me-up. And thanks to YouTube, Pandora, iTunes Radio, etc. I can even listen to music I don’t own (yet… :P).
3) Changing up my hairstyle. A combo of laziness plus rather absent-mindedly trying a few new things with my hair led me to discover a different way of doing my hair, and I’ve pretty much proceeded to do it that way all week. 😛 And, in case you were wondering, I am so that boring, wish-I-could-be-stylish-but-it’s-too-much-work type person, and usually just do my hair the same way day after day. 😛
4) Taking food cues from my body. This week, I’ve been just going with what I really want to eat, and it’s been kind of fun (and freeing!)! I don’t know if it’s true that your body craves what it needs, but I have noticed that I can tell the difference between my body wanting something and my tongue/mind wanting something…if that makes sense. I mean, my tongue would want chocolate all. the. time. 😛
5) Vacuums! After washing a shredded foam pillow in our washer turned disastrous (the zipper burst and…need I say more… :O ), let me tell you, our vacuum was i.n.d.i.s.p.e.n.s.a.b.l.e.!! I gained a new appreciation for vacuums, and was so glad we live in America and most households have one! ;).
I do love cookie dough anything, yes! It’s pretty reliable.
1.) I’m so grateful for a (generally) healthy body. Some people have it so much worse, and I’m truly glad I can do what I can.
2.) New music is so fun! Enjoy 😀
3.) I understand. I’m lazy, but I love when I do take the plunge and change things up. Totally understand.
4.) That is a cool/important distinction! And I think (at least sometimes) you have to listen to both to stay happy and healthy.
5.) Hooray for modern cleaning technology! 😉
Good luck on those upcoming finals! I am sure you will kick butt. I have heard good things about those Yasso bars, and I think I need to give them a shot. I hope you have a great weekend Ellen! 🙂
Thanks! And definitely give them a shot. They’re no Ben & Jerry’s, but they’re 100% delicious in their own right. Enjoy your weekend, as well 🙂
Good luck with finals, girl! You’ll do awesome 🙂
And I love those Yasso bars! I haven’t had one in forever though. I always love cookies and cream, but I did see the Ben and Jerry’s Speculoos Cookie Core and Peanut Butter Cookie Core flavors that were kinda calling my name.
Thanks, Alison! Cookies and cream is always a winner – and I definitely need to try those Ben & Jerry’s flavors! Ben & Jerry’s can pretty much do no wrong, and neither can peanut butter/cookie butter 😀
Yum to candy and Yasso bars. Have a good weekend without studying 🙂
Thanks, Hayley!
I have a Scout wristlet and it’s a lifesaver for college! Student ID, phone, and keys- bam. All the essentials!
Exactly! Just what you need, and nothing more – perfect! 🙂
