I’m going to do homework, relax and blog, and do more homework. Such a party, right? It really doesn’t sound bad to me, though. Anyway, before we get into the weekend, let’s look back at some of our favorite things from the past week.
- The sun
Guys, it stopped raining this week. The chilly grayness of last weekend is gone and – I’m gonna say it – I think it’s actually spring.

- Massage
My hips have recovered from my first run in about 6 months, but the rest of my body hasn’t really recovered from being tense/cold all day on Saturday. So, tonight I’m getting a massage and I’m so excited. Also, Target is right next to the Massage Envy I go to. That sounds like a solid Friday night to me.

I am excellent at falling into workout ruts. Yes, I know that doing the same workouts over and over is a great way to not reap the benefits of exercise, but I get lazy. I don’t want to think about what to do and end up doing the same two workouts most of the time. No bueno. I took a small step to combat this tendency this week and tried out the above workout. It reminded me why I love and hate HIIT/tabata routines: If you do them right, they are hard. But that’s good. They’re fast and effective. Wanna sweat in 4 minutes? Do a freaking tabata.
- Instagram group messages
Is that weirdly specific? Well, my friends and I screenshot things all the time and send them to groups via text or Facebook, but we just created an Instagram group. I love it.
How else would I discover such excellent things?
- Dinner with Susie
Susie gave me a wonderful break from working on econometrics yesterday afternoon and we had dinner at Chant. We shared a delicious Thai hummus appetizer and I had a simple shrimp and avocado salad for my meal. The restaurant is only about two streets away from the heart of campus, but that short distance and a hilarious, real, incredibly supportive friend to talk to is really all it takes to make me feel like a real person instead of a tired, stressed-out student – even if only for a little bit. She gets me and she’s awesome. Thanks for the lovely evening, friend.

I am all about group Instagrams! My coworkers and I send them to each other during work, about something that might have happened at work. So it’s an inside joke we are always laughing at.
