The happiest of Fridays to you all! ‘Twas rather a rougher Thursday in my world, but everything is truly okay and I have freshly painted nails, so we’re in good shape. Goodness, it’s been a week, but it’s pretty much over now, and all is well. I am ready for a weekend. So, a weekend I shall have. What about you? How’s your week been? Do you have fun weekend plans? Tell me all about them! And before we get to the weekend, let’s talk about some of our favorites from this long week. Sound good? Sweet.
Treadmill reading
A main reason I’m glad I wasn’t a humanities major (other than the fact that writing papers gives the perfectionist in me so much anxiety) is that reading and I don’t get along that well anymore. See, I love books. Adore them. However, reading is not a comfortable activity most of the time. I get all tight from sitting still and then I can’t focus and enjoy the experience.
But, sometimes, even econ majors need to read things. 😉 With textbooks, I often just do this at my standing desk/bed. With smaller books, I like to head to the treadmill and walk while I read. It keeps me nice and loose and lets me feel productive and/or enjoy a book. Win-win.
Strawberries
Strawberries are so good right now! I always love seeing summery produce hit grocery stores, and they’re there and reasonably priced right now. I love them in cottage cheese, by themselves, and even on toast.
Sleep gummies
I have a love-hate relationship with melatonin and haven’t taken it for a while. Sometimes it works too well, leaving me wiped out the next day. Sometimes it doesn’t work at all, leaving me tossing and turning and still wiped out the next day. However, I’ve been struggling with getting to sleep lately (part of my decision to cut back on the Diet Coke). When I was at Target one day, I picked up these OLLY Restful Sleep gummies because they were cute and I was desperate. They have L-theanine, which I love, and a little melatonin. They help me fall asleep pretty quickly and keep me asleep for right around 8 hours. I do feel a little extra sleepy in the morning after I take them, but the full night of sleep is usually worth it for me.
Homemade Paleo Bread
I really like bread. I think it’s satisfying and delicious. I don’t really like the way my stomach reacts to it most of the time. This was a very tasty way to fulfill my desire for bread and not further irritate my stomach (which might be acting up after my super fun weekend…). I’ve used it as toast (above) and snacks and sides.
A new shower head
My dad texted me this yesterday morning: “If you need a fifth Friday favorite, here’s mine: new shower head that doesn’t leak and cause the hand-held piece to drip cold water on my back.”
There ya go. Because nobody wants cold water dripping on their back during a warm shower, right?
And that’s all from me for the week! Have a fabulous weekend and I’ll talk to you soon.
Your turn:
What’s your favorite spring produce?
What are you loving this week?

Strawberries are SO good right now!
I LOVE strawberries…so excited for (cheap) berry season! And I was the QUEEN of gym reading in college, and I know it’ll be the same in grad school. The stationary bike and the stair stepper were my main victims 😉 I even graded papers on them at times, haha! And no big weekend plans but I am quite excited to go to Whole Foods tomorrow. A treat for surviving another week of work! 😀
Ooh I’ll have to try the stair stepper and a book! I’m not sure I’m coordinated enough for that ?

The strawberries have been so good lately; we’ve been buying them several times a week. That paleo bread that you made looks really good; I’m glad you found a recipe that works for you!
I also really love grapes. Those are summer produce, right?
I’ve been loving simplicity and quiet lately; it’s just been so wonderful to work in quiet and not be bustling around as much as I used to; it’s really helped me focus on what matters.
I never buy grapes here because they’re so freaking expensive. But when I go home, I eat tons!
Gilr you know that I can’t be on a treadmill without my kindle! LIFESAVER
That’s the only time I wish I had an e-reader!
Soooooo I must be really uncoordinated… or actually it might be a failing eyesight thing…. because I can’t walk and read on a treadmill…
I can barely walk on a treadmill without killing myself 😛 #clumsy
Hahaha I just trip in real life, not on the treadmill.
