Hey hey! Happy Friday! How’s your week been? After a jam-packed week of work and meetings and stuff, my weekend looks pretty light, which is an unexpected treat. I do have an econ midterm on Wednesday, but my teacher assures us it won’t be awful. And after having taken 3 quarters of this econ sequence, I can tell you that the teachers don’t usually lie. (They do usually make the exams pretty hard, but that’s a different story.) Anyway, what do you say we kick off the weekend by looking back at some of our favorite things from this super-busy week? Let’s do it.
- A care package
So… I don’t have a picture because I kind of tore into it too fast, but my grandma sent me a pretty great care package with everything from granola to Goldfish to dark chocolate. Let’s just say I forgot how much I love Goldfish. They’re definitely one of my childhood favorites!
- These cookies
{Beautiful photo via Arman}
OMG. Guys. I had some insanely ripe bananas last weekend, and Arman is a genius, so I made these. Aaaand you should do the same. I cannot eat just one (I think my one-sitting minimum is three, which is 30% of the batch…?), so I had to freeze them to slow myself down. But they seriously taste like banana bread in the form of chewy, satisfying cookies. They’re great. Make them!
- Running water
Guys, sometimes you have to be grateful for the little things. The water in my dorm was turned off from 8am to 5pm yesterday for some sort of repairs, and you never really appreciate having things like drinking fountains and toilets and sinks to wash dishes until you don’t have them anymore. I spent most of the day in the econ building, where there was water, and outside… and then came home and did the dishes 😉
- Working outside
Did you notice I said I spent time outside? That means it’s been nice here! I mean, I wore shorts on Monday!
I can’t do lots of demanding work outside because it’s distracting and not that comfortable, but I did get to fill out some (virtual) paperwork while hanging out on a bench on the quad. I felt kind of like I was in a college brochure, and it was glorious.
- Impromptu girls’ weekend
My mom is coming to visit this afternoon, which I so appreciate. Sure, I have some work to do, but I’m really looking forward to hanging out with her and recharging a bit. ❤️
Have a fabulous Friday! I’ll talk to ya next week!
Do you have any plans for the weekend?
Goldfish or Cheez-Its?
What are you loving this week?

Thanks! Hope you’re enjoying your time in NYC! 🙂
Yea, running water! When our power goes out back home (it goes out all the time) we also lose water. So when we’ve had storms and were without for over a week….life is terrible 😛
and GOLDFISH! Hands down! Cheez its always had a strange kinda of sourish taste. Not bad, but fishes are better 😛
Ick, no water for a week? I’m certainly glad that didn’t happen in a big ol’ dorm!
I love when I’m able to do work outside! It;s such a nice change of pace. Have a great girl’s weekend with your mom!
Thanks, Morgan! I hope you have a great weekend, too!
Yes i have been wanting to try those cookies for a while, they sure do sound amazing!
Do it! I don’t think you’ll regret it 😀
I appreciate goldfish because I like eating fun shapes. Same reason I like animal crackers. This weekend I am working and attempting to enjoy the nice weather. Arman is indeed a genius, he inspires a lot of my food creations
OMG I love animal crackers! Hope you’re having a great weekend, Ellie!
I feel you on the running water! That actually happened to me a few weeks back, and it was a rough rough day, but all is well now, thankfully! I hope you have a wonderful time with your mom. Love those times where it’s just my mom and me.
Cheez-its ALL THE WAY.
Thanks so much, Julia! Best of luck with your busy weekend of paper-writing!
I just found a bag of birthday cake flavored gold fish in my cupboard – score!! I’m a sweets person so they win over cheese its for me.
Jealous of your mom visit – enjoy!! Forget about that work at least for a while… 🙂
I’ve never had any of the sweet Goldfish, but they do sound intriguing. Have a wonderful weekend!
Instagram told me someone pretty much bought Chicago 😉
PS- How were we not in Columbus at the same time? I blame you. I hope you accidentally drink coke zero 😀 (Diet coke > coke zero)
Instagram is such a gossip that way 😉
I KNOW. It is my fault because school. But it’s your fault for running away to LA and then going home 😛 You should come back this summer when I’m actually there! (AND OMG YES. THANK YOU. Diet Coke is better.)
That care package sounds awesome! Aren’t grandmas the best?! 😉
Blessings,

How sweet is your grandma for sending you a care package!
Hope you had a wonderful weekend, gorgeous! <3 xo
She’s very thoughtful ❤️
I did indeed – got a post coming about that tomorrow 😉 Hope you had a good one, as well!
Hi Ellen,
These banana cookies look amazing! I hope you had great time with your mom. As for the weather, not only I love walking outside now that it is a bit warmer but I also enjoy meditating under a tree in the park. Have a beautiful week!
