Happy Friday! I think I can actually scrounge up a little schoolwork to do this weekend, and I’m actually okay with it. I have a short essay due next Friday and a mostly-done problem set due next Thursday, and then there will be another lull. I’m not sure what else the weekend holds. It’s not supposed to be as nice, weather-wise, and I hurt my ankle a little on Monday (see: why I never run two days in a row… but I needed it), so no long runs this weekend. Today is a class day, and then I have a couple appointments, and then it’ll be a fun surprise to see what I actually do. Before all that, let’s take a look back at some of our favorites from the week. Sound good? Sweet.
Last weekend
You already knew it. So much fun.
Cuckoo for Coconuts Trek Mix
All I have to say is that this stuff is crack. I even bought the individual packages, but it’s hard not to plow through more than one when they’re so tasty. It has toasted coconut, some coconut-praline cashews, almonds, and dark chocolate coconut butter cups. Ahhh it’s so good. Gonna go get some. Be right back.
A Pippa picture
This is the slightly confused look my dog gives you whenever you stop petting her for a second. “Really? You’re going to stop? But I’m so cute and cuddly.” And then she shifts a little closer to you just to make sure you get the message. I get to see her in 6 weeks!
Chicago in general
Look, I’m pretty freaking excited to be almost done with college and to be back in Columbus. Both of those things sound very (very, very) good to me. However, if I could live in two places at once, like I sort of do now, Chicago would undoubtedly be the other one. Actually, I want three places because I need a warm escape in February sometimes.
The running, the food, the shopping, the prettiness, the lake, the walkability… just know that it’s great and I love it and leaving will be hard.
A Blue Jackets win
Gonna nerd out about hockey for a second. The Blue Jackets, who I love dearly, have essentially sucked for their lifetime as a team (just the truth, guys). This year, it was different. It wasn’t a matter of just barely making the playoffs, but of being one of the best teams in the league. It was really freaking cool. They kinda sucked in the playoffs, though, losing the first three games of the series to Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh is a very good team, and this was a relatively likely occurrence, but it was still very un-fun given that the Blue Jackets won 16 games in a row earlier in the season (very rare in hockey).
ANYWAY. The Blue Jackets managed a (shaky) win on Tuesday night, and you can bet I watched. I also watched them lose last night, but it was nice to not get swept. There’s always next year.
Your turn:
If you could live anywhere, where would you choose?
What are you doing this weekend?
What are you loving this week?

Pippa looks like an Ewok. I’m just saying 😀

She does indeed. Occasionally when she shakes, she also looks like Sully from Monsters Inc. ?

ALASKA!!! I loved Alaska when we went so I would probably either live there or Switzerland. Also Pippa is just so adorable.
Ooh those are two places on my list!
We had a nice weekend at Capital U. This Alumni Weekend was a little extra special at Cap inaugurated its 16th president, a woman, and a very impressive individual. We met her at homecoming last fall. She has been serving since fall, but the big deal just took place.
I’m a Libra; so I cannot make a decision. Where to live ????
Fun time!! And I say you should live close to me, wherever that is 😉
I don’t know where I’d want to live, but near loved ones (my family, a significant other, etc) would be the determining factor. And no big weekend plans for me! Just some TLC!
Living near family is most of why I want to move back to Columbus after graduation! Hope you had a lovely weekend, my friend.
