Happy Friday! I hope it’s been a great week and you have some fun things on your agenda for what will hopefully be a nice spring weekend. Let’s end the busy week on a positive note and talk about some of the things that made it a good one. Ready? Go!
- Finally getting a handle on my to-do list
So this doesn’t sound fun, and honestly it probably wasn’t. However, I’ve caught up on a lot of the things that were really stressing me out. Less stress is a good thing… and we’ll see how long it lasts 😉
- Multigrain Cheerios
{Source}
It’s probably strange that I like these as much as I do, but they’re slightly sweet and I’ve been loving snacking on them with salty pistachios.
- Seeing prospective students
I don’t know if everyone does this, but we affectionately refer to all the prospective students visiting as “prospies” and there will be a bunch here over the next couple of weeks. I love meeting them and talking to them about UChicago. Searching for college was crazy and confusing, but it was such a fun time. Deciding where to go to school is one of the first big decisions you get to make. There’s so much opportunity, and I love watching other people experience that.
Click it. It’ll make you motivated and confident, and couldn’t we all use a little more of that? 😀
I don’t tend to think of myself as a fruity candy person (because I’m a chocolate person), but I might actually be both. That’s allowed, right? All the sugar! Also, these are really good.
Is cereal more often a snack or breakfast for you?
What was your college search like? Or are you searching now?
Do you like fruity candy?
Any other favorites this week?

I only eat Life Maple & Brown Sugar cereal, but I eat it all times of day and night. Cereal is more like a snack for me, or like, my pre-breakfast breakfast.
I had no idea Starburst made jelly beans. They sound delicious. My teeth are too sensitive to sweets for me to find out though. *sadface*

Oooh I’ve never had that cereal – just regular and cinnamon Life, but that sounds amazing! And yep, I mostly snack on cereal, too.
Sorry about that 🙁 More for me 😉
I fluctuate between chocolate cravings and fruity/tart cravings. I’ve been craving jelly beans ever since the first Easter candy started popping up in stores. It took all of my willpower to avoid those starburst candies! (I ultimately caved and bought some whopper robin eggs.) 🙂
Easter candy is awesome! Haha I think caving is kind of inevitable when it’s everywhere 🙂 Have a lovely weekend, Amy!
Cereal is more likely to be a sort of treaty breakfast for me…but I wouldn’t be above snacking on it either (especially granola!). That Cheerio/pistachio combo sounds pretty amazing, though!
I do not like fruity candy at. all. Literally, I think that’s the one sugary thing that I cannot stand. Both Jelly Beans and Starbursts (along with Skittles and Jolly Ranchers) are on my least-favorite-not-worth-it candy list. So I’m afraid I’ll have to differ from you on this one…
On to Friday Favorites!
1) I know this sounds crazy, but bedtime!! Nearly all week it’s sounded wonderful, like some sort of addicting drug or something. 😛 I love sleep…
2) My new S’well water bottle. I saw them at this recycling store last year (and I know that sounds strange, but they have some pretty cool stuff) and totally fell in love with the style. Despite my original concern about the price, my mom took me shopping for a metal water bottle and bought me my favorite S’well. It looks like it is made of wood and (I think) so classy for a water bottle.
3) Laying in the sun. I think I could do it all day. Spring, with a promise of summer, has been making an appearance lately, and I am l.o.v.i.n.g. it!! My skin just soaks up all the warmth. And sun makes me happier too. 🙂
4) Winnie-the-Pooh. I’ve been reminded how much I love the way Pooh thinks to say things with recent re-experiencing of Pooh videos. He is so funny, but so many times I’m like, “Yes! I totally agree!” or “I’ve felt like that before!” Haha…I love Pooh Bear. 😉
5) My internal body clock. When aforementioned love of sleep meets an alarm that fails to go off in the morning, for me that usually means panic and freak out, then proceed to run around crazy all day playing catch-up. But when, like this morning, my internal clock wakes me up on the dot when I usually get up, I breathe a sigh of relief…it rarely happens, but when it does, it’s a day-saver! 😉
Haha too bad about the fruity candy, but hey – more for me 😀
1.) Sleep is excellent. Bedtime is totally allowed to be a favorite – I know I look forward to it 🙂
2.) Sounds cool! Gotta love little things that feel classy.
3.) I agree. I love walking into the sun from shade, too. Soooo nice! (But don’t forget some sunscreen!)
4.) Winnie the Pooh speaks the truth. So true of so many characters from childhood.
5.) I love the feeling of waking up naturally right when you want to! It’s like your body synced up with your mind and it’s awesome.
Have a lovely weekend, Hannah 🙂
I don’t eat that much cereal anymore, but if I did, it would probably serve as breakfast or snack depending on when I felt like it. 🙂
I’m not a fan of fruity candy…sorry. I would rather spend my candy portion on chocolate! 😀
This week’s favorites:
1. The best EVER chocolate chip cookies (in my opinion – at least, so far) from Not Without Salt. http://notwithoutsalt.com/chocolate-chip-cookies-revisted/ We have been looking for a chocolate chip cookie recipe that we liked for a long time, and we finally found one! Yum. I ate at least five in one sitting no problem. And I wanted more! Ouch. But yeah, they are that good.
2. The sunny weather. Although it’s gone now, it was here, and this week was that much better for it! (I seriously think we are trading weather with you…when you have sun, we have rain, and vice-versa.)
3. The full moon. I love the moon, and I don’t know why. I only got to see it once or twice this week, but I got to see it this month, which is a bigger deal than one might think because of where I live.
4. Squeaky dog toys. Sounds weird, but the newest doggy addition to the household is young enough and playful enough that she loves squeaky, fluffy real-dog toys. And like she will actually play with them by herself. (Can you tell we have older dogs? 😀 ) So out of our dog-toy-arsenal came all kinds of old retired toys. Now I find myself drawn to squeaking the things even when she’s not around. They just sit on the floor and defy me if I don’t squeak them. I’d forgotten how much fun it was!
5. Our DSLR camera. It may not be the latest and greatest, but it sure beats my old point and shoot, and I’ll be forever grateful that we got the deal on it that we did, and made a dream come true. I don’t take pictures with it a lot, but when I do, I am reminded of how much I love it, and how my pictures are so much better because of it!
That’s okay, more candy for me! (I still love chocolate, though, don’t get me wrong!)
1.) Chocolate chip cookies are such a classic. Glad you found a recipe you love!
2.) Thanks for my sun 😉
3.) I love looking at the sky in general. Clouds, stars, sunsets, sunrises, the moon – it’s all so stunning.
4.) Aww yay for a new dog! Have so much fun with her (and her toys).
5.) I love practicing photographing with a nicer camera. Enjoy 😀
Growing up, I used to eat cereal for breakfast every single day! When I got to college it became more of a snack food. I like to put it in tupperware and keep it in my bag to snack on throughout the day.
I am more of a chocolate candy person, but I do love Starbursts and Twizzlers! 🙂
Happy Friday!
Emergency cereal snacks – I love it 😀
I’m the same way! And whoa it’s been too long since I’ve had Twizzlers. Miiiight need to change that 😉
Have a great weekend!
Multi-grain cheerios are the bomb! 😀 That sounds like a heavenly combo with the pistachios. When I was younger, I ate cereal every morning, now I mostly like to eat cereal for snacks. (I need a more substantial breakfast, now 😉 )
I’m the same way! Breakfast needs to be more than cereal, but it makes a pretty great snack… usually with some other stuff 🙂
