Happy Friday! I sat down to write this and realized I have approximately 106 favorites this week. So, maybe check out my Instagram stories later today for the rest. And I’ll save a few for next week. But yes. It’s been a pretty good week. I’m heading back to Chicago this weekend for my last quarter there. More on that below. 🙂 Everything is crazy and busy and a little overwhelming and good. Before we head into my road-tripping weekend, let’s talk about some of the best things from the week.
My birthday party
I mean, duh. You can read all about it here. It was a great time. That is all. A huge thank you to everyone who came, made it happen, and wished me a happy birthday. Y’all are the best.
Baking
I showed you some matcha scones last week, and after those were gone I got to work cookie-baking. I made:
- Nutella Chocolate Chip Cookies with Justin’s Chocolate Hazelnut Butter instead of Nutella because that’s what I had. These are ridiculous. Love love love.
- White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Oatmeal Cookies, but I’m a mess and we somehow didn’t have white chocolate chips. I’d just come back from the grocery store and didn’t feel like going back out, so I tossed in some regular chocolate chips and shredded unsweetened coconut. Totally worked.
- Big Bakery-Style Peanut Butter Chunk Cookies, except I made them more regular-sized because I have one size of cookie scoop. They’re so peanut buttery and soft and amazing. You won’t get a ton of the chocolate flavor from the chips unless you put in way more than the recipe calls for, but you also won’t miss it. They’re that good.
Franklin Park Conservatory
My mom and I went to the conservatory on Monday to take pictures of the fairy garden and butterfly exhibits they have right now. I love having pretty subjects that aren’t food to practice taking pictures on. Definitely still learning my way around my fancy camera (and Lightroom… and Photoshop), but I’m getting better.
The longest spring break ever
Today is my last day, but I’ve had two and a half glorious weeks off. I don’t really feel like going back and being a real person again, but it’s only 9 more weeks! I’m sure I’ll say this again, but because of when my internship starts, I have to be back in Columbus by the beginning of 10th week, which means more early finals for me. And after that, I have 10 more weeks of undergrad. Whaaaat.
Study abroad decision
Oh, and I’ll be spending the final 10 weeks of my UChicago career at the UChicago Center in Paris. I’m only a little excited. Okay, that’s a lie. I’m super excited and can’t wait.
And that’s all from me for the week! I’m going to go relax and enjoy my last full day at home. Talk to you next week!
Your turn:
Nutella or peanut butter?
What are you loving this week?

SO IS IT OFFICIAL??? I could probably text you that actually.
I love that there is a huge Chihuly sculpture at the conservatory. One of my favorite artists! You party was fabulous–you know my feels on that.
See you soon!

Officially official!
Sooo many Chihuly sculptures there! We went there when we studied Chihuly in elementary school art class.
I am JUMPING for joy that you get to study abroad; that will be such a rich experience. I hope you can enjoy all the croissants! 🙂 And being at home does = SO MUCH time to do all the baking.
Thanks, Emily! I’m so excited!
SOOO excited (and more than a little jealous…though tbh I wouldn’t want to be doing school to get it ?) for your opportunity to study in Paris!!! How amazing!! ??
Hahaha the school puts a little damper on it, but I still think it’ll be incredible!
PARIS?! Giiiirl that’s awesome!! Also, cutest birthday party ever!
Thanks so much, Sarah! I can’t wait!
What a way to end your college career! Not studying abroad is the one regret I have from college, but it just didn’t work out money and celiac wise. Can’t wait to hear about all of your adventures!
Yeah, I’m a little concerned about it from a heath standpoint, but since I can’t point to one issue/trigger, I’m just hoping it won’t be much more problematic than normal life…
Two and a half weeks of spring break sounds awesome! I work at a school and enjoyed my one week, but could have used a few more days. 🙂
That conservatory looked SO cool – especially the little fairy gardens! <3 <3 <3
PARIS?! THAT IS SO COOL!
Loveeee the conservatory! And totally pumped about Paris!
Those PB cookies from Sally plus those white chocolate oat macadamia cookies?! Oh my goodness, having such major homemade cookie cravings right now! If it wasn’t almost 10 pm I’d be about to head into the kitchen to bake now 😉 Your chocolate chip and coconut additions to the macadamia cookies sound incredible!
Sally recipes are always good!
