Currently, I’m studying and therefore a little stressed, to be honest. Finals are next week, so right now is crazy, and I’ll be keeping this a bit brief so I can keep working. That said, this week has still felt pretty good… for the most part. Let’s take a look at some of the best parts!
- The weather
I couldn’t not include this. It is absolutely stunning outside and, let me tell you, after a long(ish) winter, it makes staying inside and studying almost painful.
- My daily birthday present
Each day, I open a birthday present my mom left here and smile a little. I’ve gotten gift cards, Pumpkin Pie Larabars, cereal, Mickey Mouse coasters, and Wild Friends nut butters. They make nice little pick-me-ups for busy days.
- A Wednesday milkshake
It’s been a few weeks since I got a milkshake. I was never overly in the mood, so I just opted out. Wednesday, after my last class for the quarter, I suddenly really wanted one. I went and got a chocolate milkshake with Oreos and enjoyed it outside on a beautiful day. It. Was. Awesome.
- Fage yogurt
Don’t get me wrong, I adore Chobani and Oikos, and I’m really not that picky about my Greek yogurt brands. However, Fage is a little bit thicker, and it’s usually about twice the price of any other brand. It’s not worth that to me, so I never buy it. But it was on sale for $1 at the grocery store last week, so I picked some up, and I’ve been enjoying it quite a bit 🙂
- Knowing my classes for next quarter
Schedules came out yesterday, and I got everything I bid for. So, I’ll be taking classes on econ, cancer biology, linear algebra, and global warming next quarter. Ya know, after I finish my exams and go on spring break 😀
And now I should go study some more. I’ll be sure to check in again next week! Have a great weekend!
How’s the weather where you are?
Are you loyal to particular brands or do you buy whatever is cheaper?
What are you loving this week?

That milkshake looks so good! I can’t have them very often (I’m semi-lactose intolerant), but that looks like it would be worth it. 😉 The weather by me is gorgeous for northeastern Wisconsin – once it’s above 35 in the Spring, we go a little crazy here. 😉

I have to weigh the risks of that, too. In general, if I take Lactaid first, I don’t have too many issues. And ice cream is usually worth it for me.
Haha I feel like that’s true of Chicago, as well. When it hit 40, everyone was thrilled – and now it’s nearly 60! 😀

Found your link on Five Finds Friday. That weather shot is beautiful – we’ve had rain all week. Thanks for sharing and good luck with your exams.

Thanks for stopping by! We’ve been lucky to have a gorgeous start to spring – and being on a beautiful campus doesn’t hurt 😉 Have a great weekend, Felicia!
Cancer biology sounds like an interesting class!
For sure! I’m excited! 🙂
WOW!! This looks so nice!! I’m sorry you’re stressed… but at least you’ve got some fun things to celebrate!!
Haha that’s okay! Overall, I really enjoy (almost) all of it! 🙂
Wednesdays are for treats in my book! Why else would they call it Hump Day?? And milkshakes + Oreos sound like a pretty perfect midweek celebration!
I’ve been loving the weather here, too!! It’s been unseasonably warm, in the 60s, and only one day of rain this week!! I can wear *short sleeves* without a jacket most days (*gasp* I can’t even believe it…)
Mostly we buy whatever is cheapest, though we do have some brand loyal products, mostly because we can taste the difference. I also have some brands I prefer for just about anything. 🙂
Things I’ve been loving! 🙂
1) Fuzzy socks. Perfect for keeping out chilly drafts and for sliding on wood floors (am I the only semi-grown person who still does that?? 😛 )
2) My cousins. They are awesome. I know everyone probably says this, but I truly think my family’s just THEE. BEST.
3) Train whistles. You know what George Bailey says in “It’s a Wonderful Life” about the three most exciting sounds in the world? Well, I totally agree with him!! Although thrilling, positive experiences with trains probably have something to do with it, lol!
4) My dog. She’s getting old, and I think nearing the end of her life. I don’t feel like I’ve appreciated her as much as I should, especially as she got older and became more or less of a deaf couch potato (and in my mind, more hassle and work). So I’m trying to make up for it, loving her for dog she is, focusing on her positive traits and enjoying every moment I have with her. She really is sweetness!
I wore short sleeves today! And the windows were down in the car on my way downtown! It was fabulous 🙂
I’m pretty much the same way with brands. Sometimes, the extra cost is worth it, sometimes it’s really not.
Eeeeep fuzzy socks are the BEST! And sliding around on wood floors should be some kind of sport. It’s so fun.
No, MY cousins are the best 😉 Haha, teasing. I’m sure yours are amazing. I feel so lucky to adore my family as much as I do, and I’m glad you get to experience that, too!
Train whistles? Hm, that’s interesting. Simple pleasures are great, though 🙂
Aw, I’m so sorry to hear that. Love her while you can. Ahhh I can’t think about my dog getting old. Not allowed.
Gotta love the warmer weather. We have rain today and expecting more tomorrow. Problems for some people, but not for us.
I sometimes go generic and cheaper, but sometimes I insist on brand and more expensive.
Not much exciting this weekend. It is next weekend that we look forward to–we have visitors on Saturday!!!!!
That’s about how I operate with regard to brand, too.
Hmm I wonder who those visitors could be…? 😉
PS I got your card! Thank you!
The weather is getting beautiful here! It almost feels like Spring. The only brand I am particularly fond of is Clifbar. I love the company and their message. Have a great weekend!
I think NY had a rougher winter than we did! Glad it’s getting better for you, too 🙂 Have a lovely weekend, Ellie!
Hi Ellen! So glad I stumbled across your blog 🙂
I can totally relate to how you feel about the weather! I live in Michigan, and the milder temperatures and sunshine have been such a nice change. My sister told me it’s suppose to be 67 here on Monday. Crazy!
I usually stick to buying the same brands at the grocery store, but when I see a good sale on another brand, I’ll get that instead. Every once and a while I’ll switch things up and buy new brands to add some variety, too. 🙂
Also, that Instagram picture is stunning! Was that taken on your college campus?
Best of luck on your exams next week!!
Hi Melanie! Yay, I’m so glad you stopped by 😀
Yeah, Michigan’s weather would be pretty similar to ours, I suppose. It’s sooo nice! I think we’re mid-60s tomorrow, too!
That sounds like how I operate with regard to brands/sales. And variety doesn’t hurt anything 🙂
Thank you so much! Yep, that’s the University of Chicago!
Ahh thanks! Studying lots, but I could use all the luck I can get 🙂
