How is it already the first weekend in March?! How is it already so close to the end of winter quarter?! Time moves so fast! Anyway, how are you spending your weekend? It’s supposed to be a gorgeous one here – just in time for the start of finals madness 😛 So it goes. I’ll be doing the studious thing and trying to get ahead on work, hanging out with friends, and hopefully spending a little time in the kitchen.
This has been a pretty dull week in my world, but there have been some bright spots. So, let’s end it on a positive note by pointing out some of those!
I know I already shared this picture, but this meal was so good! Is there anything better than a juicy burger topped with melty cheese on a fluffy, buttery bun? No. And especially not when it’s served with homemade ketchup, crispy fries, and a creamy-but-not-too-rich mac & cheese. The only downside was the teeny-tiny bottles of Diet Coke. They were adorable, but I would rather have lots of Diet Coke than cute Diet Coke. Personal preference.
- Muscle relaxers
First, the medicine the urgent care doctor prescribed has helped manage my bizarre hip pain a bit. Second, even though it no longer knocks me out during the day, I do attribute a few good nights of sleep to this stuff.
I’ve played around with my mom’s quite a bit and I love it. She made the switch from a DSLR to this and is happy, so I feel pretty comfortable going for the X-T1, too. Also, it’s half the weight of a DSLR, so carrying it around will be less of a pain.
Georgie is fabulous. Her recipes are creative, her pictures are stunning, and her writing is insightful. On top of all that, she’s endlessly encouraging and generous with her time and knowledge. This post is an excellent reminder that “easy” isn’t necessarily a good thing and that the most worthwhile things actually take a lot of effort.
- Girl Scout Black Forest Trail Mix
This was in the package my grandparents sent me and it is sweet-and-salty perfection! It has hazelnuts, almonds, cashews, peanuts, dried cherries, and mini dark chocolate pieces. Aaaand the ratio of chocolate to everything else is just about 1:1, which is pretty ideal, if you ask me. ?
Have a great Friday! And be sure to check back tomorrow for the recipe I promised yesterday!
What’s in your favorite trail mix?
What are you loving this week?

It’s delicious!
I’m with you on the Diet Coke- I get the appeal of cutesy bottles and what not, but I just want like, a gallon of it. So there’s that. That burger looks AMAZING!
Hahaha a gallon of Diet Coke sounds pretty great right now ?
My favorite trail mix is sweet and salty. I love having sesame sticks in it. Those things are so addicting. Trail mix is actually the only thing I like dark chocolate in. I’m not the biggest dried fruit in trail mix person. I loved Georgie’s post too! She is a great blogger and wonderful person to read about.
Sweet and salty is the best!
That trail mix sounds unbelievable! I need to find that 🙂
Definitely keep an eye out! 🙂
Ah, your grandparents are some lovely people 😉
I never have trail mix!!! But I think it should always have peanuts and chocolate!
Chocolate and peanuts are trail mix must-haves! And also daily must-haves, in my world 😉
Farmhouse is one of my favorite restaurants–always will be. I’m glad that you are getting some relief from that hip pain. So crazy. Your grandparents are fabulous! And we need to actually get on each others’ schedules one of these days!
Yes, we do! I’ll text you!
That burger looks SO good!
Glad to hear you’re hip pain is getting better – at least at night time! I had hip issues for a while last year and it was SO frustrating trying to sleep at night as I felt like I could never get comfortable. Truth be known, I ended up buying a heap of different “pregnancy pillows” to try and help. They didn’t – I just kicked them off the bed in my sleep haha.
I’m a sucker for a good burger 🙂
LOL I’ve never understood pregnancy/body pillows for that very reason!
