Happy Friday! Ready for the weekend? I sure am. It’s supposed to be another beautiful one here, I don’t have a ton of schoolwork, I’m headed to a student fashion show tonight, and my parents are coming to see me. We’re mostly planning on hanging out and having downtime together, and I’m quite content with that. It should just be a good couple days. But before we get to that, let’s reflect on some of the best stuff from the past week
- Pajamas
I was all dressed up for a meeting earlier this week – you know, heels, tights, cute dress – and it was only for about four hours, but as soon as I got back to my room… pajamas. I don’t even wear overly cute pajamas. I am an oversized T-shirt and boxers girl. But comfy clothes are just the best.
- Sour Patch Kids
Sour Patch Kids and I go way back, but I don’t usually but them unless I’m going to see a movie or something. Honestly, I’m much more of a chocolate person than a candy person, usually. My grandparents know my love for them, though, and included some in my most recent care package. I broke into them last night and smiled a whole bunch.
- Better than expected midterms
I love UChicago 90% of the time. Okay, I love it all the time probably. But it sometimes often makes you feel pretty not great about your intelligence level when it comes to exams. So the occasional times you find out that awful midterm wasn’t so awful… those feel pretty good.
- Baking experiments
Let’s just say I’m working on perfecting cookies the size of your head. And no, these particular ones are not healthy, unless you mean for the soul. Because they’re packed with chocolate. That stuff is soul food.
- Parfaits
These are healthy, though! I know that it’s not exactly much harder to make a parfait than to sit down with one big bowl of fruit and cereal and stuff, but they feel fancy. Taking the time to make my breakfast a little extra pretty is nice sometimes. Also, this one has a bit of a (delicious) twist. Check back tomorrow for that! ?
Have a lovely Friday!
If you could have any giant dessert, what would it be?
Do you bother to make your food pretty? Only if I’m sharing it – either in real life or on the internet. Usually, I’m cooking for myself and eating pretty quickly and it all looks like a mess. I just need it to taste good.
What are you loving this week?

Give me giant cookies!!!!!! I’ll be waiting 😉
Ah yea, I just sleep in a big T-shirt and Sophie shorts! Fancy PJs never made sense to me 😛
Chocolate > candy any day, but if I had to pick a candy it would be gummi bears or sour patch for sure!
And no haha! You should see what my real meals look like that I’m not taking pictures of for anything blog related…hahahaha…. 😉

I’ll see what I can do about those cookies 😉
I’m all about cookies – giant or otherwise. And I get out of real clothes the SECOND I get home. My husband makes fun of me because even if I’m in relatively comfy jeans, I get home and put on yoga pants asap.
LOL I’m glad you can relate to my love for comfy clothes ☺️
I don’t go out of my way to make pretty food, but if it so happens to be, I totally take a picture 🙂 A giant dessert I would love, probably a big cookie would fit the bill. However I also would settle for a bowl of peanut butter lol
Have a great weekend Ellen 🙂
A big bowl of peanut butter sounds pretty perfect to me! Hope you’re having a lovely weekend, Ellie!

YES, girl, I am 100% agreed on the value of pajamas. I’m learning to be more and more grateful for the peaceful days that God has given us (a lot of them lately) in order to enjoy being in pajamas for longer in the morning. My favorite big dessert might be a big bowl of pie and icecream. 🙂
Slow mornings are so nice! Glad you’ve been enjoying them, Emily ☺️
Giant cookies? My first decision was chocolate bar… But I am afraid I can’t to eat so much chocolate☺️ Can’t wait for cookies recipe!
My ex-boyfriend bought me a 5-pound chocolate bar once! It was huge! And I think it lasted a couple weeks, since I chopped it into bite-sized pieces for easy storage.
I was in interviews all last weekend, so I was just like you- pajamas the MINUTE I got back to the comfort of my room. In other news, I’m insanely intrigued by head-size cookies.
If I could have any giant dessert, it would probably be a banana split with a warm brownie on top. Mmmmm.
Have a beautiful weekend, Ellen!
I love that you combined desserts! A brownie-topped banana split sounds awesome.
Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend, Julia!
Nah, my food is rarely pretty, but that’s because I usually like huge (and I mean, MASSIVE!!) sandwiches, I always add LOTS of sauce, all the toppings and condiments, and generally end up eating the sort of food that falls apart and drips down your hand and face (and sometimes arm) as you eat it. ? As for giant desserts, a super-moist and fudge-y, super-chocolate-y brownie would put me in food heaven!
LOL I love messy sandwiches. And your brownie sounds like perfection ?

Thanks, Irene! I hope you have a great weekend, too 🙂
Similarly to Ellie- a giant tub of cashew butter and a spoon would do me fine- not even any effort involved 🙂
I’m also all for comfy PJs or leggings the second I get through the door!
Enjoy your weekend xx
Mmmm. Straight nut butter for dessert? I like it ? Have a beautiful weekend, Charlotte!
My giant dessert of choice would be a huge cookie; chocolate chip of course 😉 Hope you have a wonderful weekend, Ellen <3
Blessings,

Giant chocolate chip cookies might be on my mind… 😉
Enjoy your weekend, Edye!
