Happy Friday! I hope it’s been a good week where you are, if possibly a very cold/snowy one. I can’t say it’s been a bad one here at all – just crazy. But, now it’s over, and it’s time to take a look at some of the things that made it lovely.
- Kitchen time
I was admittedly super stressed out yesterday about making study break for the prospies. But then I had a lovely time making it – as usual. We made these (pictured) and these (too ugly in reality to photograph 😉 ). I highly recommend both.
- North Face everything
It’s been really cold this week. So cold. But my North Face calf-length coat and gloves and fleece keep me nice and, if not warm, fairly comfortable amidst the ridiculous winds. My backpack is also North Face, and my notebooks and computer would like me to assure you that they feel well-protected, as well.
- Cinnamon Chex
I love cereal. This stuff is addictive. Not quite as sweet as Cinnamon Toast Crunch (which I also love), but super cinnamon-y and just amazing.
- Driving in the city
A couple of girls from SWS and I went to a talk at the Chicago Fed yesterday and as we were riding into the city (and out of it), I just couldn’t believe how pretty it is. I mean, I know it’s stunning, but at night the skyline is perfect. It was dark, so no picture. But Google it!
- Ghirardelli Midnight Delight
I love super-dark chocolate. This stuff is amazing, it’s been a long week, and I think that’s all we need to say about that.
What’s your favorite cereal?
Dark chocolate? Milk chocolate? White chocolate? No chocolate? Not sure we can be friends if it’s that last one 😉
What are some of your favorites of the week?
Grandma says
It’s probably milk chocolate, but I go with dark chocolate a lot because I can call that a health food.
Bought new mattress yesterday. Original was a mistake–too plush and soft. We are passing that on to Kim and Chad for the new bedroom downstairs.

If it makes you happy, it’s a health food 🙂
I like this philosophy. Mental health is important, too, right?
Very! 🙂
I think my favorite cereal is Corn Chex…I know, kinda boring, but I love making different creations with it and it has such a unique and somehow addictive flavor. 🙂 Plus, awesome with anything peanut butter and chocolate chips, so how can you go wrong with that? 😛 I also used to eat the Cinnamon Toast Crunch with apple juice instead of milk. <-the best
Dark chocolate all the way!! Though if I am eating it out-of-hand, I prefer no darker than somewhere around 72% cacao. Trader Joe's Pounds Plus is my favorite, though I have probably said that before. 😉
Some of this week's favorites…raw dough anything!! I am definitely the type of girl who loves pretty nearly anything raw, ooey-gooey, half-baked, etc. 🙂 Also, Mason jars! I know I'm late to the trend, but they just look so cute with just about anything you put in them. My mom just bought a bunch for our kitchen and I'm really loving them.
I actually love Corn Chex, too! Simple and versatile and delicious!
I love half-baked everything – including the Ben & Jerry’s flavor 😉 I love how cute Mason jars are, and I so wish I had a current purpose for them, but I don’t. Maybe in the future?
Yes to Corn Chex. 150% better than Rice Chex. Do they even still make Wheat Chex? Those were a kind of gross.
They do, but not in the giant boxes like Corn Chex. They must know it’s unpopular. Also, Chex is fairly well-known as a gluten-free cereal, but the wheat version obviously isn’t, so that probably contributes to its relative lack of popularity.
Woah, that is super dark chocolate! I love dark chocolate anytime, anywhere, but my limit is usually about 75%. I applaud you! The darker, the healthier for you. 😉 And the cinnamon Chex and honey nut Chex are my favorites!
Ooh I’ve never had honey nut Chex, but that sounds wonderful! I love honey nut Cheerios.
