Happy Friday! What are your exciting weekend plans? Mine include studying for a midterm, applications, and homework! Yay, student life! I intend to make it as fun as I can, though. It’s all in your mindset, right? What do you say we start the weekend off with a positive one by looking back at some of our favorite little things from the past week? Let’s do it.
First, I love most cheese. Mozzarella, cheddar, baby Swiss, gouda, feta, whatever. Cheese is good stuff, and it goes well with pizza, pasta, crackers, fruit, bread… the list goes on, but basically all the best things in life. Anyway, I picked this up about a week ago, didn’t read the label, and thought it was Colby-Jack (they look the same). When I tasted it, it was a little stronger than I expected, but so good. I’ve been eating it on black bean soup, rolled with ham, and alongside grapes and apple slices.
Oh, and I’m pretty sure it’d be wonderful on sandwiches. Get some!
- FaceTime
In the past, I think I’ve underutilized FaceTime, but I’m making up for it now. I spent a little time with my parents this week while I was doing homework, trying to unwind, and talking through some dilemmas. It was really nice and it made a few of my rougher points this week feel a little easier.
I would say this isn’t just limited to romantic relationships. Lots of thoughts on this for another time, but this is excellent.
- An overheard love story
When I was at the Hyatt Place last week, it was pretty quiet, so I didn’t have headphones in. As a result of this and the fact that I am a (normal) nosy person, I heard an American family meeting an young Italian woman and her parents face-to-face for the first time. Turns out, the American family’s son, a grad student at UChicago, met the Italian woman while they were studying abroad in London as undergraduates. Now, they’re getting married. It was adorable to hear the families getting to know each other. They talked about everything from the weather in Italy to learning one another’s languages to Italian tomato sauce and Chicago-style pizza. So cute. I couldn’t stop smiling.
I said I was in the mood to bake, right? Well, I gave myself some baking time right after lunch yesterday – before I could convince myself I needed to work instead. It was glorious, and so are these muffins. Recipe coming at ya tomorrow!
Have a fabulous Friday!
Are you a cheese person? What’s your favorite kind?
What are you loving this week?

I am a fan of SHARP cheddar cheese. The sharper the better. Since I went back to vegetarian instead of vegan, ive been trying all these new cheeses that we have at work. I am not a fan of Brie, but love Manchego and Gouda.
This week I am loving getting to wear nice clothes at my job. Working at the running store means I can actually look pretty without worrying I’ll get something on myself.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Oooh I’m not sure I’ve ever had Manchego. I’m all for trying new cheese, though 😉
Hahaha I always love an excuse to dress up! Have a great weekend, Ellie!
Well let’s just say Nooch is my cheese 😉
And I’m gearing up for some awesome baking this weekend!
I need to use nooch more! Have fun baking 😀 I’ll be studying and being jealous 😉
That love story is SO cute. Aw. I like all kinds of cheese, except feta. My favorites are goat and havarti!
I love the tanginess of goat cheese!
Those muffins look delicious!! That love story is so cute! I would have definitely eavesdropped on that too 😉
I miiight have just had another one. Thanks for reading, Jenna! Check back tomorrow for the recipe 🙂
I love cheese! If you’ve never had whole wheat macaroni with tomato sauce topped with mozzarella cheese you’re missing out. It’s LIFE CHANGING!! 😉
Blessings,
Edye <3
Ahhh that sounds delicious!
Even though I am allergic (as I’m sure I’ve said a million times before ?), I still l.o.v.e. cheese!!! I can’t choose a favorite, especially as I like different cheeses for different things (obviously), but Provelone, Asiago and any kind of Goida are all up there. Oh, and goat cheese too!! ?
Those all sound lovely to me!
I’m afraid I am not a cheese fan- Quark is about my limit! My parents are coming down to London this weekend so I’m v. excited about that 🙂 We’ve never really used FaceTime either but that needs to change soon!
xx
Have fun with your parents! I get to see mine next weekend, and I can’t wait!
Those banana muffins look like perfection! Yum <3
