This is gonna be a quick post because, well, we mostly spent yesterday on a bus and a boat and a bus again.
Did you miss my weekend posts? Check out my recap of Dublin and Glendalough here and some horse farm and Waterford highlights here!
We were up bright gray and early to drive to catch a ferry from Ireland to Wales. It was an hour and a half drive, followed by a four-plus hour ferry ride, followed by a two and a half hour drive to Cardiff. Oof.
It was a rainy and gross day in general, but I took a few pictures of Cardiff Castle during a brief respite.
{The guy who designed the walls added statues of animals to make it look like they were escaping.}
Then, despite feeling like I should maybe explore in the rain, I laid on my bed and then did my hair before dinner. I have mostly been not making an effort with my hair in the mornings because it just gets wrecked by wind and rain, but I feel 36948 times better about myself when my hair is in order.
After that, we headed to Llanerch Vineyard for our final dinner as a group.
Turns out, Wales makes pretty good wine. Not red wine – it’s never warm or sunny enough – but white, sparkling, and rose. Also, Wales is famous for lamb, apparently. So… I tried (and actually liked) lamb.
And some custard-scone dessert combo. Like, the lemony stuff was somewhere between cream and custard and the cinnamony baked good was somewhere between scone and cookie. Whatever it was, it was tasty.
This was easily the best meal I’ve had on the trip. Not saying much, given that my other meals were rather not good, but this was quite tasty. We also got to chat with a waitress there who is finishing up her last year of regular Welsh school before university, and it was fun to hear about her life. Probably especially for me since I’m closer to her age than everyone else on the trip.
And then it was back to the hotel and time to try to wind down before we head back to England for the last day of the whirlwind tour. I’ll be back with a recap of Bath and Stonehenge tomorrow and I should have a full trip assessment up by the end of the week!
Your turn:
What’s your favorite type of wine? Meat?
What was the best part of your weekend?

I want to live in Wales just to look at that tower. I could stare at it for hours (glass of wine in hand, of course). I love chardonnay and cabernet, as well as blends!

It was so pretty and intricate!
I’m not a wine person or a meat person, but I do like lamb on occasion. Lean lamb steaks grilled on the barbecue are perfect!
Oooh that sounds so good!
