It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these, so I’d say it’s time for a life-y update! Here’s what a fairly typical work day looks like for me.
5:46 am – Wake up of my own accord. I guess it’s early, but it’s also about an hour later than I’ve been waking up lately. I’ll take it.
5:55 am – Eat most of a banana pre-workout.
{See the Minion? So cute!}
6:00 am – Chat with my dad for a couple of minutes and assure him he doesn’t need to move his car so I can go to the gym since I’m more than okay with working out at home. Our usual parking situation got a little messed up due to some crazy weather over the last couple of days.
6:15 am – Warm up for a bit. Do this workout and absolutely love it. I think I ended up going 10 to 5 and I added an exercise here and there. But it was fun!
7:10 am – Finish the workout and cool down a little before checking to see if my dad already took Pippa out. He didn’t.
7:22 am – Leash Pippa up and take her out for a humid morning walk.
7:45 am – Come back and stretch while talking to my dad before he leaves for work.
8:06 am – Shower, dry my hair, and barely start doing my makeup. Decide I’m too warm to actually do my makeup right now. Breakfast sounds better than getting ready.
8:46 am – Sit down with breakfast, which includes vanilla Greek yogurt, a bowl of cereal, and the rest of my banana. And 3 giant tumblers of water. Read blogs and check email.
9:35 am – Get up and get dressed to go. I convinced my mom to go to Target with me before work to pick up some medicine, on-sale notebooks, and this contraption that might possibly help with some of my pain issues.
{I did forget to buy conditioner…}
10:46 am – Get back home from Target and put away what we bought.
11:01 am – Prepare part one of lunch, since I have to work at 12:15 and don’t get more time to eat until 5:00. I snack on ham, Swiss cheese, carrots, and pistachios.
11:28 am – Try to figure out what part two of lunch is going to be. As I open the fridge, I see my schedule and realize I actually work at 1:15. Postpone part two of lunch and go watch more Cupcake Wars.
12:03 pm – Grab some Greek yogurt and an English muffin.
12:35 pm – Change into real clothes. I said I got dressed before, but that meant yoga pants and a tank top. Not really work-appropriate attire (unfortunately).
12:59 pm – Spill a teeny bit of Diet Coke on my white pants. Cool. My mom saves the day by grabbing me a wet paper towel that removes the stain before it really sets in. Run out the door.
1:15 pm – Get to work. Chat with coworkers and clients for a few hours. Watch the rain pour outside. Flood warnings come in at 2:43.
5:04 pm – Leave work and drive home. It’s super sunny now. So bizarre.
5:21 pm – Get home, change into shorts, and go for a quick walk to stretch out a little. I listen to the last 20 minutes of this podcast, which features two of my favorite blogs.
{The day turned so pretty. Clouds are so cool.}
5:50 pm – Come inside, see Sun Chips on the counter. Eat a handful. Chat with my mom.
6:45 pm – Meet a friend for Chipotle. We hadn’t seen each other since… I think last summer? So, we spent two hours catching up on life. ‘Twas lovely.
9:00 pm – Arrive home. Say hi to Pippa.
9:03 pm – Change into pajamas. I’m lame.
9:21 pm – Sit down with a nice snack and write this blog. Watch Chopped. Catch up with my parents a bit.
{Plain Greek yogurt, salted almond butter, apple, blackberries, bread, and a cookie}
10:42 pm – Toast a blueberry Eggo and grab a cookie dough Yasso bar because I’m still hungry. More food = better.
11:05 pm – Bed. Yay. It was a good day.
Is the weather crazy where you are?
What’s your favorite kind of chip?
Do you stay in “real” clothes at home or change into comfier ones?
How’s your week been?

Living in Illinois, the weather is pretty erratic. It can be super cold one day then the next we have a tornado warning. Ah, the joy of the unknown.
I rarely ever wear regular clothes when I’m home.. that is when the “comfy pants” come on 😉

Haha I think you guys have been getting a lot of our weather a day or so in advance (I’m home in Ohio right now).
Yes to comfy pants 😀
The first thing I do when I get home after work is change into comfy clothes! Sweats immediately 🙂 Your night snack looks so good, especially those blackberries.
I’m absolutely the same way. And thanks – berries are finally good (and cheapish) around here and I’m loving it!
that plate of snacks looks so good! thats my ideal go to for sure 🙂
i alwaysss change into comfy clothes, especially now we have adopted a cat! can’t get his fur all over my work clothes, that would be a nightmare..
It’s a favorite combo of mine, too 🙂
Oh no that wouldn’t be good… Cat hair gets everywhere!
Same here- I spend the majority of my times in my ‘homeless person’ clothes at home ;D! Loving all my berries right now, especially blueberries. I absolutely love beet and strange looking veggie chips- they are just so interesting to eat. My absolute favorite would have to be salt and vinegar chips though- nothing can beat that sour and savory taste for me!
I like Terra veggie chips like those you described. Oooh and I love salt & vinegar flavor. It’s so pungent and addictive 🙂
I love day-in-the-life posts! Mostly, I stay in my “real clothes”, but I like to change into my pjs early…like, as early as is socially acceptable for a semi-adult person. 😉
Up here in my corner of the PNW, we’ve had mostly normal weather…though a little cool this last week for a normal summer. Our heat had been more concentrated into one week of HOT, then the next week cooler but still nice.
I have a hard time choosing a favorite chip, though Sun Chips used to be one of my favorites (is it just me, or does it seem like their Original flavor has changed in the last 5 or so years? It doesn’t seem as good as when I was a teenager…but maybe that’s just me…). I really like Food Should Taste Good multigrain chips; I haven’t tried very many of their others flavors. But I think my right-this-minute favorite would be just straight up corn tortilla chips. I am very picky about my tortilla chips though (Must be made with yellow corn! Must not taste like a crunchy corn tortilla! <- I know, right, like isn't that the point?? But I hate corn tortillas…). I love Mission brand and, recently, in search of a brand that tastes *just as good*, but was organic, I found Trader Joe's (gotta love 'em) sells some that look and taste just exactly like or maybe better!!! Aaannnnyhow…I didn't intend for this to be a treatise on chips…sorry, got a little carried away. 😉
I'm having a pretty great/average week! Hope yours is terrific, Ellen! 🙂
We haven’t had much super hot weather this summer yet either.
Haha I think they might’ve changed the flavor a little, but I still like ’em alright 🙂 And I understand about the corn tortilla chips. There’s a difference between crunchy tortillas and tortilla chips and I know it when I taste it 😉 Let me know how those TJ’s chips are if you try them!
Thanks, Hannah – it’s been pretty good so far!
I change into PJs or comfy clothes as soon as I get home for the night! especially if I’m wearing jeans…they’ve got to go. Your day of eats sounds so delicious. Chipotle, cookie dough bar, blackberries…can we trade days of eats?! 🙂
I’d love to try all your Indonesian food, so I might be up for that 😉
