Hello, there! Sorry I neglected you for about a week. I’ve been crazy busy and every time I wanted to post, I also wanted to sleep. Sleep is kind of scarce around here, so the blog got pushed to the back burner. But I’m back for now 🙂
Since it has been a little while, I thought it’d be fun (for me) to kind of recap my whole week and unload some pictures. So, it’s story time! Get excited.

Well, this was pretty much my Friday night. I have a philosophy paper due on Monday, but I started it last Friday because I like to be ahead of the game – and I knew that this past week would be busy. I outlined most of the paper on Friday and ate my way through my remaining Oreo stash as I went. (Those are my two favorite flavors, aside from original Oreos).
Saturday wasn’t a whole lot more exciting. I wrote most of the rest of my paper and then some friends and I spent the evening creating a stock pitch for a Smart Woman Securities (SWS) project that we needed to send in that night. Did I say I like to be ahead of the game? Yeah, didn’t really happen there.
I worked through my calc problem set on Sunday morning and read the first book of Nicomachean Ethics. So very exciting. But then I went grocery shopping. This was great not only because grocery shopping is one of my favorite things ever, but also because I got to bake  afterward – and that’s another one of my very favorite things ever. After our Sunday night house meetings, we have “study breaks”, where someone in the house makes food for the other people, and last week, I was in charge 🙂
{Gooey, fantastic blondies adapted from Averie}
I made Nutella-Swirled White Chocolate Chip Blondies (I doubled this recipe, but used white chocolate chips instead of peanut butter chips) and No-Bake Chocolate Biscoff Bars (I doubled this recipe, but used Biscoff in place of peanut butter) and they both got rave reviews. Both were super easy to make, and I was in and out of the kitchen in an hour, but I loved every minute of it.
After study break, I pretty much crashed. But not before I saw this on one of the upperclassman’s doors.
It’s so crazy to think about, but that’s true. Next week, we only have three days of class before Thanksgiving. When we get back, we have three days of class before reading period. And then finals week. First quarter is almost over.
On Monday, I had a writing seminar and started studying for my calc midterm on Thursday before heading to a dinner seminar about resumes.
Honestly, I didn’t get tons out of it. I just learned that my resume is well-formatted. Cool.
Tuesday was my busy day, and then my SWS group gave our stock pitch that evening.
{This is what I looked like during the presentation}
{This is what I looked like on my way there and back – it was quite chilly here last week!}
For as panicked as we all were about it beforehand, the pitch actually went pretty well, so that was a relief.
I spent most of Wednesday studying for my Thursday calc midterm, and I still think the first one went better, but oh well. After my midterm Thursday I napped, met with my career adviser, and worked with a couple of friends on our econ problem set.
And on the way to the library to work, I saw workers putting up lights! So festive. The holiday season is here!
I had a TA session for econ after we finished the homework, and then grabbed dinner and stocked my purse with snacks and Diet Coke before heading to go see a prescreening of Mockingjay. A big group of UChicago students got tickets to go see the midnight release, and we ended up getting to see a 9:30 showing instead! The movie was really good, though I wish it wasn’t split into two parts because it’s hard to evaluate the first part when it doesn’t really have an ending. Oh, well. So much fun.
And when we walked out of the theater around midnight, we were greeted by that view. So perfect.
While we were watching the movie, some of our housemates made a pillow-chair fort in our house lounge.

Yeah, it’s still there. We don’t really sit in the lounge right now…
Yep, that’s been my week (I spent a good deal of Friday trying to finalize my paper). It’s been a good one, if super busy. I only have one more day of classes before I head home for Thanksgiving, so that’s kind of really exciting.
I hope you’ve all had a lovely week, and hopefully I’ll be able to pop in a little more regularly in the near future 🙂
Are you ready for the holidays?
How was your week?

Those blondie brownies look AMAZING! I need those so I can eat my sorrows away during finals week. Have a great weekend!

Haha I was just home and stocked up on ALL THE FOOD, so I should be set for finals week, too 😉 Good luck with yours!
Sleep rules over blogging, especially when in school. 😉 So no problem!
This holiday season will be pretty much just crash-and-burn for us; we’ve had out-of-town family with us for the last month and they are leaving right before Thanksgiving. It’s been fun, but exhausting, so we’ll be taking a break. 🙂
It’s been really great to get to know my 3-year-old nephew and spend time with him, so keeping up with him has occupied my last few weeks. 😛
That’s so fun! I just saw my little cousins over Thanksgiving, and I can’t wait to see them again over Christmas break. I hope you had a relaxing Thanksgiving!!
