That’s a long title. Oops. Too bad.
Anyway, on Saturday, my house held our annual Awkward Date Night… but it was cheaper to do it during the day. Around 30 of us left the house around 1:00 pm for a 2:00 restaurant reservation at Mia Francesca for more of an Awkward Date Day.
What is this mysterious event, you ask? Basically, you go on a “date” with someone from the house you don’t know very well (who asks you in an uncomfortable manner), and you are assigned a secret task to make the meal awkward. Examples include speaking only in rhyme, incessantly taking pictures of everyone in the room, slurping obnoxiously, sitting only on someone else’s lap, and hovering around the room pretending to be a journalist. My task was to show excessive interest in everyone else’s dates, while my date’s task was to try to hold my interest (he got in several “fights” with people I was trying to flirt with). It was weird, but fun nonetheless.
And I got yummy tiramisu out of it.
Afterward, the people sitting at my table decided to go to Trader Joe’s. I love grocery stores, and I could have spent significantly more time there than we did (and bought a lot more than I did). However, I managed to come away with these…
… and they are wonderful. Like Oreos (and you know how much I love those), but filled with ice cream!
After Trader Joe’s, I spent way too much time being unproductive and socializing, but I did get some reading and math done, so that was good. And my studying was fueled by a lot of chocolate.
(A lot more than that.)
Yesterday, I studied for econ (last midterm!) with some friends, did some reading for Tuesday, and helped set up/tear down my hall’s Oscar party. Also, I woke up to find this in the hallway:
It’s a balloon animal Minion from Despicable Me! I love that movie, and the Minions. I have no idea who put it there, but I love it a lot.
And today I get to start looking at scheduling stuff for next quarter. Craziness. Have a good one!
Do you like tiramisu? I didn’t think I did, but the piece I had on Saturday was perfection.
Do you like to grocery shop? What do you buy at Trader Joe’s?
How was your weekend?

Awkward Date sounds like so much fun! The tiramisu looks delicious but I don’t really like it..I hate any food that’s soggy at all but I love the flavor!
Trader Joe’s is my favorite grocery store and luckily there’s one right by me! I buy so much from them, but my favorites are the Corn and Chili tomato-less salsa and their goat cheese! It’s so cheap and amazing! 🙂

Totally understand the texture thing with tiramisu. It’s a little odd.
Ahh so lucky! There are so many fun things there. I’m definitely going to have to try that salsa, and it’s great to know they have inexpensive goat cheese 😀
TRADER JOE’S!!!!! I LOVE that place and seriously could spend hundreds of dollars there easy – no joke!! My favorites are probably their Pounds Plus chocolate (heart!) and also, because no one else sells it, the sun-dried tomatoes in a bag (they aren’t packed in oil, solo they aren’t super-greasy, which I like). Isn’t their snack/trail mix isle and their treats isle just irresistible?? Anything in those isles always sounds good… I love grocery shopping, but prefer the trips where I can take my time and there’s no rush. 🙂
Tiramisu’s okay, but I’d rather have something else I prefer for my dessert. 😉
I had a good, restful weekend, but it wasn’t long enough!! 🙂 Friday night my sister and I had a great time babysitting a couple of neighbor boys and having an all-out Nerf war…it was a blast! 😛 The rest was just chillaxing at home – one of my favorite things to do.
Good luck on your last midterm!
Everything in Trader Joe’s seems fantastic, and I plan on trying SO MUCH. But I guess I’ll pace myself 😉
